Madhya Pradesh Police has returned 2,095 lost and stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners

  • 1461 lost mobiles have been returned during Safe Click 2.0 campaign since June 13 through technical support and CEIR portal.

“Safe Click 2.0” campaign is being effectively conducted across the state by the Madhya Pradesh Police. Starting from 24 June 2026, the objective of this special campaign is to make citizens aware of cyber crimes and motivate them for safe digital transactions. Under the campaign, extensive cyber awareness programs are being organized at schools, colleges, banks, hospitals, government and private institutions and other public places in all the districts of the region. Public is being made aware not to click on suspicious links, to be vigilant during digital payments, not to share confidential information related to OTP and banking and in case of cyber fraud, to file a complaint immediately on helpline 1930 and National Cyber ​​Crime Portal.

Along with prevention of cyber crimes, Madhya Pradesh Police is also continuing the work of tracing lost and stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners through modern technology based policing. A large number of mobile phones are being recovered and returned to citizens through the CEIR portal, technical analysis and coordinated efforts of cyber teams of various districts, which has further strengthened public confidence in the police. Since June 13, a total of 2,094 lost and stolen mobile phones have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners by various districts and GRP units of the region. In this, a total of 1461 lost mobile phones have been returned to their rightful owners in 12 districts and 02 GRPs of the region so far after the launch of “Safe Click 2.0” campaign.

Among them Bhind 325, Dewas 210, Shajapur 179, Narsinghpur 175, Chhatarpur 149, Raisen 149, Barwani 129, Bhopal GRP 124, Khandwa 123, Khargone 100, Burhanpur 100, Zabua 80, Singrauli 70, Guna 65, Bhopal Rural 53, Ujjain 40, Katni 10, Jabalpur GRP 7, Indore GRP 5, Siwani 1 and Chhatarpur 1 mobile.

It is noteworthy that under the “Safe Click 2.0” campaign conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Police from June 24, 2026, citizens are being made aware of cyber crimes in the entire region. Through programs organized at schools, colleges, banks, hospitals and other public places, people are being made aware not to click on dubious links, not to share confidential information related to OTP and banking and to file a complaint immediately on helpline 1930 and National Cyber ​​Crime Portal in case of cyber fraud.

This achievement is an excellent example of Madhya Pradesh Police’s technology-based approach, sensitivity to cyber crimes and citizen-centric policing. On the one hand, through the “Safe Click 2.0” campaign, the citizens are being informed about measures to prevent cyber crimes, while on the other hand, the police is continuously strengthening the public’s confidence by promptly recovering lost and stolen mobile phones and returning them to their real owners.

Madhya Pradesh Police appeals to the citizens that in case of loss or theft of the mobile phone, immediately file a complaint on the CEIR portal or at the nearest police station. Also avoid clicking on any unknown link, sharing OTP, banking details or other confidential information and in case of any cyber fraud, immediately file a complaint on National Cyber ​​Crime Portal, Helpline 1930.
