With the resolve of a child marriage free society, the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign gets a new momentum.

  • Information given to girl students about child marriage, safety, health and legal rights

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s good governance and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, awareness programs are being continuously organized in the state for the safety and empowerment of girls under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. In this sequence, the Women and Child Development Department and the District Child Protection Unit organized an awareness program for girl students in Surajpur.

    The program provided information on the ill effects of child marriage, the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, safe touch and unsafe touch, drug prevention, the Juvenile Justice Act, traffic rules, and menstrual hygiene. The students were told that arranging or assisting in child marriage is a punishable offense, and any such incident can be reported to the 1098 child helpline.

    Information was also provided about the Sakhi One Stop Center’s services, women’s safety, legal aid, and counseling facilities. Students were encouraged to be aware of their rights, continue their education, and seek assistance from helplines and related organizations if they encountered any problems.

    On this occasion, representatives of school family, Women and Child Development Department, Child Helpline and Legal Services Authority were present.
