Various activities will be organized in schools till July 29, focusing on culture, education, motivation, speeches, essays, yoga, tree planting, teacher-disciple interaction.
Guru Purnima fortnight to be celebrated from 15 to 29 July 2026 in all government schools of the state started on Wednesday. On this occasion, the students offered obeisance to Maa Saraswati and Guru. The purpose of this fortnight is to develop respect for Guru , discipline , moral values and Indian cultural traditions among students and to create a positive and cultured educational environment in schools.
During the fortnight, different activities will be organized daily keeping in mind the talent and personality development of the students. These will include Speech Competition on the Importance of Guru , Essay Writing on ‘ Mere Jeevan Mein Guru ‘ , Sanskrit Verses , Guru Vandana , Bhajan Presentation , Yoga and Meditation , Health Awareness , Career Guidance , Motivational Lectures , ‘ One Guru – One Tree ‘ campaign , Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) , Cleanliness and Public Awareness Rally and ‘ Guru-Shishya Motivational Dialogue ‘ . Through these activities, efforts will be made to develop leadership skills , expressive skills , social responsibility , environmental protection and awareness towards Indian cultural values in the students.
- Various activities will be organized in schools for 15 days

From July 16 to 27, the students of high schools and higher secondary schools of the region will be given an educational tour to the nearby public schools. During the visit, the students will observe the modern teaching methods , innovations , experimental activities and educational systems of the schools. On July 24, under the campaign ‘ Ek Guru – Ek Vriksha ‘ , trees will be planted in and around the school premises. Each plant will be dedicated in the name of a guru and students will be entrusted with the responsibility of protecting it. Guru Samman messages and name-plates will be prepared by small children. Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) on 25th July will discuss academic progress , discipline , moral values and customs among parents , teachers and students. The parents of the students with excellent exam results will also be felicitated. On July 27, the message of cleanliness , environmental protection and social responsibility will be conveyed through cleanliness campaign and public awareness rally . Senior teachers and former students will share their experiences and guide the students in the program ‘ Guru-Shishya Prerna Samvad ‘ on July 28.
Guru Purnima fortnight will end on 29th July. On this occasion, awards will be given to the students who have excelled in various competitions and activities. Along with this, principals and teachers who give more than 90 percent exam results at the district level will be honoured. Along with this, retired teachers will also be honored at the school level. Apart from this, all the teachers and students will also take a collective resolution to respect the Guru , Sanskar and build the nation.
- Special programs will be held in all schools
During the Guru Purnima fortnight, there will be special activities in Sandipani Vidyalayas. Students from nearby schools will be visited by students. Their best works will be displayed in schools across the region. Along with this, science exhibition , exhibition of science experiments and project based activities , information on innovations made by students and teachers , exhibition of digital/AI by students and meritorious students will be organized in these schools. During the Guru Purnima fortnight each activity will be conducted for a maximum of one hour so that the regular studies of the students are not affected. All the programs of the fortnight will be ensured in active partnership of School Management Committees , Public Representatives , Ex-students , Parents and local community.
