Two days National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery and Development”, by the MATS School of Pharmacy, MATS University

The Two-Day National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery and Development”, organized by the MATS School of Pharmacy, MATS University, Arang Campus, Chhattisgarh, was successfully conducted on 17th and 18th July 2026.
The seminar was inaugurated on Friday, 17th July 2026, in the gracious presence of Honourable Shri Gajraj Pagaria, Chancellor, Shri Priyesh Pagaria, Director General, Honourable Prof. (Dr.) K. P. Yadav, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Gokulananda Panda, Registrar. Their inspiring addresses emphasized the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in pharmaceutical education, research, healthcare, and innovation.
Over the two days, participants benefited from four enlightening technical sessions delivered by distinguished experts. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU), delivered a lecture on “AI and ML-assisted PAT Tools for Continuous Crystallization and Continuous Manufacturing.” Dr. Megha Jha, Director, Pinnacle Biomedical Research Institute, Bhopal, presented an expert talk on “Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Sciences: From Drug Discovery to Patient Care.” On the second day, Dr. Deepak Sharma, Professor, Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, delivered a lecture on “AI-Driven Quality by Design (QbD) in Analytical Method Development,” followed by Dr. Rahul Pratap Singh, Associate Professor, Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, Noida, who spoke on “AI-Assisted Selection of Suitable Journals for Research Publications.”
Each technical session was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling participants to engage directly with the experts and gain valuable insights into the emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence in pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Amit Kumar Nayak, Principal, School of Pharmacy & organizing committee expressed its sincere gratitude to the Honourable Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Director General, Registrar, distinguished resource persons, organizing committee members, faculty, technical support team, and all participants for their invaluable support and enthusiastic participation in making the seminar a grand success.
