‘A big gift from Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai’: A high-level bridge will be built over the Shree River in Jashpur, strengthening the connectivity of three states.

  • A high-level bridge will be built over the Shree River at a cost of Rs 9.45 crore.
  • The route connecting Jharkhand and Odisha will facilitate easy travel.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Jashpur district has received another significant development project. Under the 2025-26 budget, the state government has granted administrative approval of ₹94.585 million for the construction of a high-level bridge and approach road across the Sri River on the Kunkuri-Tapkara-Lawakera road.

This route is a vital link between Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The construction of the high-level bridge will ensure safer, easier, and more seamless travel between the three states. It will also boost trade, transportation, education, health, and employment activities.

The narrow bridge currently located on this route used to pose a major problem during the rainy season. Traffic would be disrupted when the water level rose, forcing villagers and passersby to travel at risk. For a long time, residents of the area had been demanding the construction of a high-level bridge. Now, after receiving administrative approval, there is an atmosphere of joy in the area.

Local villagers expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, stating that the state government is continuously working for the public good, prioritizing infrastructure development in border and rural areas. The bridge’s construction will provide safe transportation for thousands of people and give a new direction to regional development.

The people of the area believe that this high level bridge to be built on the Sri River will prove to be a new door of development for Jashpur district and will play an important role in connecting the remote areas of the state with better connectivity facilities.
