On the occasion of World Environment Day, a human chain will be organized in support of environmental protection at Marine Drive, Raipur, located at Telibandha Lake, from 7:30 am to 8:30 am on Friday, June 5, under the “Future of India” campaign . This event is being organized by the Chhattisgarh Science Sabha and various educational, social and cultural organizations.
The human chain will convey the message of protecting forests , conserving water , clean air, and planting more trees. People will also be made aware of the increasing adverse effects of climate change. Science workers , teachers , doctors , professors , farmers , laborers , representatives of social organizations and government officials and employees will participate in the program and express their commitment towards environmental protection.

Dr. Anju Meshram, secretary of the Raipur unit of the Chhattisgarh Science Sabha and an educationist, said that the campaign aims to raise public awareness to protect Raipur and other cities in the state from rising temperatures and environmental challenges. During the program, songs will also be presented with messages about tree conservation, water conservation, and greenery.
In addition, important topics such as food security , the agrarian crisis , self-reliance in science and technology , air pollution control, and large-scale tree plantation will also be discussed. The concept of balanced and sustainable development will be discussed, with a resolve to build a green , clean, and environmentally safe India by 2047.
Chhattisgarh Science Sabha has appealed to all the citizens to strengthen the campaign for environmental protection by participating in this public awareness program in large numbers.
