- Show cause notices were issued to three superintendents and one principal for negligence, instructions were given to solve the problems of the students immediately
Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Affairs Department Smt. Shakuntala Damor conducted a surprise inspection of schools, hostels and ashrams in tribal areas on Saturday 18th July and took stock of the arrangements there. During the inspection, he held a meeting of the hostel superintendents and interacted directly with the students and after listening to their problems, he gave instructions to the concerned officials for their quick solution.
During the inspection Mrs. Damor inspected Dabri, Pathri, Songudda and Mohanpur Higher Secondary Schools as well as Dabri, Pathri, Songudda, Bitli, Sonpuri, Ukwa and Mohanpur hostels. He reviewed in detail the condition of the hostel buildings, the damaged buildings and the facilities being provided to the students. In observation, regular operation of computer room in Mohanpur Higher Secondary School was not found. A show cause notice was issued to the principal of the school Mrs. Chitrarekha Meshram for this negligence and instructions were given to submit an explanation.
In the Superintendent’s meeting, the Superintendent of Dabri Ashram, Smt. Asha Nagdeve and the female students sat in the dormitory, and directed to issue a show cause notice against the Superintendent, Ms. Priyanka Kale, if she was absent without notice. At the same time, instructions were given to issue a notice against Mr. Ramlal Patle, Superintendent of Senior Boys’ Hostel, Ukwa, for not admitting eligible students of class 11th and 12th. The Assistant Commissioner made it clear that all the eligible students should be admitted to the hostel according to the available seats.
During the observation, the students of Dabri School informed about the problem of drinking water and increasing outbreak of malaria in the area. On this, Smt. Damor directed the principal of the school to immediately install water coolers for the students and ensure regular health check-ups of the children in coordination with the Divisional Medical Officer of Birsa. He also laid special emphasis on providing quality education by regularly conducting smart class in the school. Assistant Commissioner Smt. Damor said that any kind of negligence in punishment, health and hostel arrangements of the students will not be tolerated and all officers should discharge their responsibilities with full seriousness.
