- Message given on family planning, maternal and child health and gender equality
Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, the Women and Child Development Department organized an awareness program on population stabilization and protection of girls at the Danganiyapara Anganwadi Center in Sector Jarve-B of the Integrated Child Development Project, Baloda, in Janjgir-Champa district.
The District Program Officer stated that during the program, villagers were provided detailed information on the importance of family planning, balanced population growth, maternal and child health, and the respect, safety, and protection of girls. He explained that uncontrolled population growth increases pressure on various basic resources, including education, health, housing, and employment, thereby impacting overall human development. A call was also made to adopt the concept of gender equality and small and healthy families. An
awareness rally was organized to educate villagers about population control, balanced use of resources, and family planning. Information was also provided about balanced and nutritious diets, effective measures for population stabilization, and various public welfare schemes run by the Women and Child Development Department.
A large number of villagers including public representatives, teachers, Anganwadi workers, adolescent girls, women and project supervisors participated in the programme.
