- Chief Minister Dr. Yadav tasted the well-known mawa of kukuru and
- encouraged the women of self-help groups
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav observed the livelihood activities conducted by women of Krishna Livelihood Self Help Group at Kukru, a hill station in Baitul district on Saturday. He tasted the mawa and rabri prepared by the group and interacted intimately with the women and appreciated their work.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed the women about the support received from group activities, IK sources and government schemes and appreciated their efforts towards self-reliance.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the process of making mawa available in the shop and discussed the work being done towards self-reliance among women. He said that Self Help Groups are playing an important role in empowering the rural economy as well as making women financially independent. The state government is continuously working to promote women’s empowerment and self-employment. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inquired about the amount received under Ladli Bahna Yojana from women. He asked whether the amount of the scheme is being received regularly. Giving information about the benefit of the scheme to women, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his gratitude.
Mrs. Shobha Gayne, president of Krishna Livelihood Group Kukru, said that the group has received financial assistance of Rs.3 lakh from CCL, Rs.1 lakh from CIF, Rs.11 thousand from RF and Rs.40 thousand under PMFME scheme. He said that 11 members are working in the group. An automatic machine for making mawa was purchased from the Livelihood Mission. From this he is getting a monthly income of around 25 thousand rupees.
The women members of the group said that they are also doing agricultural work along with animal husbandry, milk production, Mawa, Rabdi and Shrikhand production. Through these activities the women of the group are getting a monthly income of around 15 to 18 thousand. Due to which they are becoming financially strong.
On this occasion Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and MP Mr. Durgadas Uike, Baitul MLA and State President Mr. Hemant Khandelwal, Bhainsdehi MLA Mr. Mahendra Singh Chauhan, MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad Vice President Mr. Mohan Nagar, Commissioner Mr. Shrikant Banoth, IG Mr. Mithlesh Kumar Shukla, Collector Dr. Saurabh Sanjay Sonwane, Superintendent of Police Mr. Virender Jain were present.
