Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme changed Neelima’s life

  • Sewing training provided a new path to self-reliance, successful self-employment started from home

The Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme, run by the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, is emerging as a powerful medium to connect the youth of the state with skills, employment and self-reliance. Under the scheme, employment and self-employment opportunities are being made available to the youth by providing them free training in various employment-oriented trades. Taking advantage of this scheme, Mrs. Neelima Devangan, a resident of village Mohla in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki district, has given a new direction to her life. Today, by running a successful self-employment business of sewing from her home, she is not only financially self-reliant but is also making a significant contribution to the family income.

  • Training changed my outlook on life

Mrs. Neelima Dewangan received training in the tailoring trade under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme at the District Project Livelihood College, Mohla. She explained that she learned about this training through a friend. After completing the necessary formalities, she enrolled in the training and completed it with full dedication. During the training, she was provided with practical and technical information related to the trade, including modern sewing and embroidery techniques, machine operation, garment cutting and stitching. The guidance of expert instructors not only honed her skills but also boosted her confidence.

  • Skills become the basis of livelihood, employment is available at home

After completing her training, Neelima decided to start her own business instead of waiting for a job. She began sewing from home and today, she is sewing a variety of clothing for women and children. From the very first month of self-employment, she began earning a regular income of approximately 5,000 to 6,000 rupees per month. This income is playing a vital role in meeting her family’s financial needs and has positively improved her standard of living.

  • Increased self-confidence with self-reliance

Neelima Dewangan says that the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme not only gave her a skill but also the confidence to stand on her own feet. Today, she respectfully supports her family and hopes to expand her self-employment in the future and provide employment to other women.

Mrs. Neelima Dewangan credits her success to the Skill Development Department, the District Project Livelihood College Mohla, and the district administration. Expressing her gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, she said that the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme is becoming a strong foundation for employment, self-reliance, and a respectable life for rural youth. This scheme is providing youth with skills and confidence, enabling them to realize their dreams and build a better future.
