Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Chief Minister Sugam Transport Bus Service will be started in Madhya Pradesh from September 25 this month. He said that our aim is to provide easy, simple, safe, modern and reliable bus services to the citizens of Madhya Pradesh and we are going to take a new step from 25th September in fulfilling this aim. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has a road network of 5 lakh km. There is scope to run more than 15 thousand buses here. Apart from our citizens, buses are also used for transportation by tourists and devotees who visit the region in crores every year. It is also a big opportunity with a challenge for us. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appealed to the private bus operators, bus manufacturing companies, industry partners and stakeholders to recognize the growing opportunities in MP in the changing times and join hands with the government to participate in the development journey of the state . Prepare a fine public transport model for the benefit of passengers in the region, which becomes an example for the entire country. Chief Minister Dr Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of ‘Passenger Transport Vision Summit-2026’ under Chief Minister Sugam Transport Seva organized at Brilliant Convention Center, Indore on Friday.

Earlier, 60 to 70 lakh devotees used to visit Ujjain every year. Now their number has reached more than 8 crores. This year, 14 crore devotees are expected to come to Ujjain. Statistics of the tourism department show that now more than 20 crore tourists are coming to the state every year. In such a time, the arrangement of convenient transportation is the responsibility of all of us. One state one bus service will facilitate the movement of passengers and provide employment opportunities to many youths of the region. The state transport bus service which has been closed for decades in Madhya Pradesh has got a revival today. This is an opportunity for 360 degree change in 20 years. Accessible transport bus services will benefit passengers, operators, governments and new technology adopters. High speed trains, logistics corridors, dedicated industrial corridors, high speed highways are being laid across the country. At present Madhya Pradesh government is moving forward at a fast pace considering the future prospects.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is going to start from September 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s birthday. Transport and School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh reiterated the state government’s commitment to provide safe, convenient and technology-enabled travel to the citizens of the state. He said that this summit will prove to be a historic milestone in the direction of making public passenger transport modern, accessible and environment-friendly in the region. Referring to the gradual development of transport, he said that beyond the traditional system of the 17th century and later the petrol-diesel era, today we have entered the era of e-buses. The primary objective of the government is to connect remote rural areas with cities through pollution-free transport with excellent and safe services.
Transport Minister Shri Singh said that the state government is developing an organized and transparent system by partnering with private bus operators. Construction of modern bus terminals, digital tracking, effective monitoring of drivers-operators and road safety will be ensured through ‘Mukhya Mantri Sugam Transport Seva’. After the closure of the old state transport service in the year 2004-05, Chief Minister Dr. This new service has been decided under the leadership of Yadav. This ambitious plan will be effectively implemented on the ground.
Mayor of Indore Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has worked to solve the problem of passenger transport in the state with his visionary thinking. Secretary Transport Shri Manish Singh said that Chief Minister Dr. Under the leadership of Yadav, the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service has been launched in the direction of developing a safe, convenient, affordable and modern public transport system in the region. Highlighting the objectives of the summit, he presented the requirements, background, creation of a new system, three major pillars of the system and the institutional structure of the Chief Minister’s Accessible Transport Service in his address. He said that by setting up Madhya Pradesh Yatri Transport and Infrastructure Limited (MPYPIL), bus operations, ITMS and transport infrastructure are being developed in an integrated manner on PPP model. Secretary Shri Singh said that by brainstorming with various stakeholders on bus operation, infrastructure, passenger safety, green mobility, integrated ticketing and financial feasibility of operators, PPP based standard operating model and roadmap for modern ITMS will be prepared through the summit. Our aim is to provide reliable transport services to the people of the region in line with “Right Bus, Right Way and Right Time”.
Industry representatives also shared their views on technological innovations and investments in the summit. Mr. Dharmendra Jain, CFO of Yash Technology said that Chief Minister Dr. Under the leadership of Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is rapidly moving towards a developed Madhya Pradesh by connecting industry, technology and employment to the common people. He said that the target of connecting 75 percent of the development blocks with transport services by the year 2030 is a big vision. By increasing the number of buses, the public will get better transport facilities. Founder and President of Eka Mobility, Pune Shri Sudhir Mehta said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s vision of providing accessible transport services in the region is commendable and organizing the Passenger Transport Vision Summit is an important initiative in this direction. He informed that electric bus manufacturing plant is being established in Pithampur as the fourth plant in Madhya Pradesh by Eka Mobility, the work of which has been completed in 14 months. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 5 thousand e-buses, which will play an important role in developing an accessible and modern transport system along with strengthening the industrial ecosystem of the region.

A two-day state-level summit has been organized on September 11-12, 2026, to present the vision of the Chief Minister’s Accessible Transport Service and deliberate on the development of a safe, reliable, affordable and technology-enabled public transport system in Madhya Pradesh. It is attended by more than 2,000 delegates and 100 key industry experts, including representatives of national and international institutions, key stakeholders such as e-bus and major vehicle manufacturers, software companies and ITMS agencies, financial institutions, energy companies and private bus operators.
The primary objective of the summit is to modernize public transport and strengthen rural, inter-district and inter-state connectivity. It also aims to improve passenger experience through digital ticketing and real-time passenger information systems. This entire system is centered on three major pillars of ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Transport Seva’. This includes effective bus operation through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, technology-based monitoring and management of services through Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) and development of other essential infrastructure including modern bus terminals, bus stands, depots and stops.
This initiative will create an integrated and technology-enabled public transport ecosystem in the state, providing citizens with a safe, easy and convenient travel experience. A national level ‘Let’s Create a Logo’ competition was organized to decide the logo of Madhya Pradesh Passenger Transport and Infrastructure Limited (MPYPIL). A total of 135 entries from creative designers, students, freelancers and professional agencies across the country were examined and the three best designs were selected. Mr. Sudhakar Kumar of Sasaram (Bihar) won the first prize of Rs.5 lakh in the competition. An important MoU was signed between MPYPIL and ‘Rapido’ with the aim of facilitating the citizens’ access to public transport in the region and strengthening first and last-mile connectivity.
