  • The government’s intention is clear – no injustice will be done to the poor; the MLA colony claim is completely misleading: Kedar Kashyap

Raipur. Forest and Cooperation Minister Kedar Kashyap, in a press conference held at the BJP office in Ekta Parisar, said that the allegations being leveled by the Congress against the state government regarding the Nakati village incident are completely baseless, misleading, and motivated by political malice. The Congress is making a deliberate attempt to tarnish the government’s image by spreading confusion among the public, whereas the reality of this entire matter is completely different. He said that the Congress wants to gain political mileage by misleading the public, but the people of the state know the truth well.

Minister Kedar Kashyap stated that the allotment process for the land over which Congress is currently politicizing began on September 1, 2020, during the tenure of the then Congress government. Revenue records clearly state that this land was proposed for allotment to the Housing Board. After the land was earmarked for allotment, illegal encroachments steadily increased, expanding from approximately 3 hectares to 15 hectares.

He said that the district administration consistently strived to take appropriate action in this entire matter. The administration and local public representatives repeatedly attempted to reach a consensus on the rehabilitation and settlement of the encroachers. Sensitivity was maintained during the proceedings, and efforts were made to rehabilitate the affected families.

Minister Kedar Kashyap dismissed the Congress’s allegation that Nakati village was completely razed as completely false. He clarified that action was taken only in one of Nakati village’s 17 wards, where government land was illegally occupied. The Congress is deliberately spreading propaganda that the entire village will be razed to create confusion and anger among the people.

Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the Congress party unsuccessfully attempted to turn this legitimate administrative action into a mass movement. Congress leaders resorted to political tactics like inciting the affected people, organizing protests, and defaming the government, but the Congress party failed to garner public support. The Congress party continues to engage in this type of inflammatory politics today.

He said that the Congress party should also recall its own tenure. During the Bhupesh Baghel government, approximately 150 families were forcibly removed from Serikhedi village. None of them were rehabilitated, nor were any alternative housing arrangements provided. In contrast, the Vishnudev Sai government, adopting a humanitarian approach, provided housing to the affected families in Naya Raipur, handed over the keys to their houses, and made arrangements to respectfully transport them to their new homes. This is the biggest difference in approach between the BJP and Congress governments.

Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the Congress party is now provoking the very people for whom the state government provided housing. This is a pure political conspiracy. The government’s intention is absolutely clear that no injustice will be allowed to be done to any poor, farmer, or needy person.

He also dismissed the Congress’s allegation that a MLA colony would be built on the land as baseless. He stated that no final decision has yet been made regarding the land’s use. Currently, the land is under the jurisdiction of the Revenue Department, and its future use will be determined by the Housing Board and competent departments as per regulations. The propaganda being spread by the Congress in this regard is completely false and misleading.

Minister Kedar Kashyap stated that the necessary administrative permissions and NOCs for this entire process were granted during the Congress regime, and the entire process was carried forward between 2020 and 2022. During that period, land encroachments also expanded. Today, the Congress is attempting to mislead the public by concealing these facts.

He said that the Congress party has no positive issues left related to public interests, and therefore, it continues to engage in politics of lies, confusion, and provocation. However, the people of the state have rejected such efforts in every election and will not accept the Congress’s misleading politics in the future.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that Congress should stop trying to provoke people and disrupt the social environment over the Nakati case. If Congress truly cares about the interests of the poor, it should conduct politics based on facts, rather than trying to tarnish the image of the state government by making false allegations.

During this, BJP State General Secretary Akhilesh Soni and BJP State Spokesperson Gauri Shankar Shrivas were present.
