- Efforts to create awareness of forest rights in special village meetings will be
- reviewed by the governor and the implementation of community forest resource rights
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the Forest Rights Act 2006 is a committed effort for tribal welfare. The concerned department shall make the implementation of this Act more effective with special efforts. He said that local public representatives and responsible citizens should be co-operated in the implementation work as required.
Governor Shri Patel was reviewing the implementation of community forest resource rights at Lok Bhavan on Thursday. In the meeting held at Sandipani Auditorium, Principal Secretary to the Governor Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari was also present.
Governor Shri Patel reviewed the district wise activities of community forest resource rights in the meeting. Learned about the rights of community forest resources, conservation and management. He said that the proper procedure of the Gram Sabha should be followed in accordance with the provisions of the Act. The entire process should be done in a cordial atmosphere in the Gram Sabha. Governor Mr. Patel announced the progress of the Act in Pesa Gramon. He said to pay special attention to transparency in Gram Sabha functions and financial management. Also monitor the officers responsible for financial management from time to time.
Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat Rural Development Smt. Deepali Rastogi told the Governor Mr. Patel that through the special Gram Sabhas on August 15, the forest resource rights campaign will be further extended. Special efforts will be made for public awareness at the local level. The cooperation of all departments concerned with the implementation of the Act will also be taken. Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Shri Gulshan Bamra gave detailed information about the progress of forest rights works across the region. He informed about all the procedures related to the implementation of the Act. Discuss the tasks as per area specific or requirement. Principal Secretary Forest Shri Raghavendra Singh said that the pending works related to forest resource rights will be completed expeditiously in the coming days.
In the meeting, Chairman of Tribal Cell Shri Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department Shri E. Ramesh Kumar, Tribal Cell Secretary Mrs. Meenakshi Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Chief of Forest Force) Shri Subhranjan Sen, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal and senior officers of concerned departments were present.
