- Honored by Madhya Pradesh Police for hoisting the Tricolor on the highest peak of Africa
Director General of Police Mr. Kailash Makwana paid a courtesy call to Inspector Mrs. Deepika Gautam at the Police Headquarters after conquering Mount Kilimanjaro. Mr. Makwana congratulated and wished him on this occasion. Appreciating their achievement, the DGP said that this success is a symbol of the ability, courage, determination and excellence of women officers of Madhya Pradesh Police.
He said that Inspector Smt. Deepika Gautam has inspired the women, youth and all officers and employees of the police force of the region to dream big and realize them with her achievements.
Additional Director General of Police SCRB Shri Jaideep Prasad and Inspector General of Police SCRB Shri Harinarayanchari Mishra were present on this occasion.

Inspector Deepika Gautam posted at State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Police Headquarters on 29th May 2026 reached Gilmans point 5685m of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of African continent and hoisted the Tricolor and Madhya Pradesh Police flag. She was the only participant from India in this international mountaineering expedition. With this achievement, Inspector Mrs. Deepika Gautam has become the first woman officer of Madhya Pradesh Police who has successfully scaled the world famous mountain peak located in Tanzania and has brought glory to the Pradesh Police.
Mount Kilimanjaro expedition was a very challenging and difficult expedition of five days. After crossing three base camps during this time, the final ascent was started at night. During the expedition the temperature reached minus 10 to 15 degrees Celsius and the constantly changing weather made the conditions more difficult. Despite these challenges, Inspector Smt. Deepika Gautam achieved success by exhibiting indomitable courage, courage and determination.
