Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw, who reached Dhamdha Nagar Panchayat of Durg district for the inauguration and Bhoomi Pujan program, announced the upgradation of Dhamdha Nagar Panchayat to a Municipality. The residents of Dhamdha had been demanding this for a long time.
After upgrading to a Municipality, the city will get more space for development works and development works will accelerate. This announcement by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw, which fulfills the long-awaited demand of the people, will further accelerate the systematic development of Dhamdha and the work of developing public facilities.
During his visit to Dhamdha, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Saw inaugurated and performed groundbreaking ceremonies for development projects worth approximately Rs. 7 crore. This included the inauguration of projects worth Rs. 4.6 crore and the groundbreaking ceremony for projects worth Rs. 2.39 crore. He also announced a grant of Rs. 2 crore for the city’s development. Mr. Saw stated that over the past two years, Rs. 13 crore has been allocated for the development of Dhamdha Nagar Panchayat. Active and serious efforts are being made to develop all urban bodies in the state.
School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, Durg MP Shri Vijay Baghel, MLAs Shri Domanlal Korsewada, Ishwar Sahu and Shri Lalit Chandrakar also attended the program. Chairman of the Oil Mill Development Board Shri Jitendra Sahu, President of Dhamdha Nagar Panchayat Smt. Shweta Agarwal, Vice President Shri Brijendra Dani, District Panchayat President Shri Liman Sahu and former Minister Shri Jageshwar Sahu, along with Shri Surendra Kaushik, Jitendra Verma, Preetpal Belchandan, councilors and public representatives were also present during the event.
