Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel held a meeting with officials in the Collectorate’s meeting hall in Bemetara district to review the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) Governing Council. Saja MLA Shri Ishwar Sahu was also present. Minister Shri Baghel inquired about the progress of development works underway in the district, public welfare schemes, and projects approved from the Mineral Trust Fund.
Instructions to expedite construction works:
During the meeting, Minister Mr. Baghel gave clear instructions to officials that all construction works approved under the Mineral Trust Fund must be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said that unnecessary delays in development works not only affect the effectiveness of the schemes but also hinder the benefits accruing to the general public.
No Compromise on Quality
Minister Mr. Baghel issued a stern warning to officials, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing quality in construction projects. He stated that any lack of quality or negligence found in any project would result in strict action against the concerned agency and responsible officials. He also clarified that all work must be carried out in accordance with established standards and technical guidelines.

Prioritizing public welfare works,
instructions were given in the meeting to prioritize works related to education, health, drinking water, and infrastructure. Minister Mr. Baghel said that people living in mineral-rich areas should receive direct benefits from these schemes, so that their standard of living can be truly improved.
Minister Baghel directed officials to regularly visit the ground to
inspect the works and evaluate the progress. He said, “The aim of development works is to benefit the last person, and any kind of negligence or delay will not be tolerated.” He instructed officials to increase field visits and submit periodic reports after directly inspecting the actual status of the works.
Emphasis on transparency and accountability:
In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on ensuring transparency in construction works, regular monitoring of works and proper use of resources. Also, priority was given to expansion of basic facilities in rural and mineral-rich areas. On this occasion, Collector Ms. Pratishtha Mamgai, Superintendent of Police Ramkrishna Sahu, District Panchayat CEO Ms. Premlata Padmakar, District Mineral Officer Mr. Rohit Sahu along with senior officers of various departments and members of the Governing Council were present.
