Emphasis on making the Seed Corporation self-reliant through timely functioning and financial discipline

  • Chairman Shri Chandrahas Chandrakar reviewed the schemes, 
  • Instructions given to accelerate seed production and connect more and more farmers

With the aim of strengthening and making the Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation more self-reliant, a review meeting was held on Thursday at the Corporation Headquarters in Raipur, chaired by Corporation Chairman Mr. Chandrahas Chandrakar. The meeting included a detailed review of the Self-Reliant Pulses Scheme, the seed production program, registration of farmers and cooperative societies, and the Corporation’s financial position. The Chairman gave top priority to improved implementation of the schemes, timely procedures, and financial discipline, and directed the corporation to accelerate progress in accordance with set targets. The meeting was attended by the Managing Director, headquarters officials, employees, and all seed managers.
 Corporation Chairman Mr. Chandrakar reviewed the progress of the Self-Reliant Pulses Scheme and instructed all seed managers to work in accordance with set targets and ensure the benefits of the scheme reach as many farmers as possible. Reviewing the registration of farmers and cooperative societies on the Saathi portal, he emphasized the need to complete the registration process within the stipulated timeframe and connect as many farmers as possible to the seed production program. He urged the organization of necessary training programs to provide farmers with information on the seed production process and related technical information, ensuring smooth conduct of the upcoming seed production program.

  • Recovery and financial discipline improve the condition of the corporation

Chairman Shri Chandrakar said that due to timely working and special attention to recovery, there has been a significant improvement in the financial condition of the Seed Corporation. He gave instructions to pay special attention to the recovery of old seed amount, receipt of farmer’s share and verification of the data sent to the headquarters. He said that to further strengthen the financial condition of the corporation, all the officers and employees should work with responsibility and commitment.

  • Emphasis on e-office and timely execution of works

The Managing Director instructed all seed managers to complete government work within the time limit, conduct works through e-office, timely execution of LS and JKS related works, prevent recurrence of audit objections and keep the Google sheet updated daily. He laid special emphasis on sending the information and data sent to the headquarters after checking it with utmost care, completing the grading and packing of Kharif and Rabi crops on time and keeping the office registers updated and organized.

  • No compromise on seed quality:

The meeting also emphasized the need to ensure no compromise on seed quality. The chairman directed that in case of substandard seeds being found, strict action should be taken as per the rules after examining the test report and necessary documents of the concerned organization. He said that providing quality seeds to farmers is the corporation’s paramount responsibility.

  • Seed storage should be as per requirement.

Chairman Mr. Chandrakar, taking the issue of seed saving seriously, said that when storing seeds based on the demand of the Agriculture Department, data from previous years should be considered as benchmark and storage should be done as per requirement. This will prevent financial loss to the corporation due to unnecessary seed saving.

  • Instructions for coordination to solve field problems

The Chairman said that officers should attend every review meeting with full preparation and introspection and should work with alertness and responsibility as per the dignity of their post. He gave instructions to coordinate with the Collector’s TL meeting and the concerned officers to solve the problems arising at the field level and to inform the headquarters in writing if the problem is not solved, so that the functioning and credibility of the corporation is not affected.
