- Chief Minister should take up Vikram Udyogpuri industrial projects
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inspected Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain on Thursday and reviewed the industrial development and investment projects. He observed that the local farmers and villagers got more and more employment opportunities on priority in the industries involved in the industrial sector. Farmers should be motivated to produce essential crops in industrial units, so that farmers’ income can increase and industries can also get raw materials easily as per requirement. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that due to Madhya Pradesh government’s industry-friendly policies, modern infrastructure and positive attitude towards investors, industries in the region are developing rapidly.
Chief Minister Dr. Mr. Rajesh Rathore, Executive Director of MPIDC briefed Mr. Yadav about the current status of operational and proposed industrial projects, industrial infrastructure development, land allocation and investment in the district.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the state-of-the-art food processing unit of M/s PepsiCo India Limited. The unit, established with an investment of around Rs 1,266 crore, was virtually inaugurated by the Chief Minister. This project will create about 800 direct and large number of indirect employment opportunities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inspected the under-construction working women’s hostel in the industrial area at a cost of Rs 50.05 crore. This modern residential complex will provide safe, comfortable and dignified accommodation to around 1,500 women working in the industrial sector. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that providing better residential facilities for women employees will increase the participation of women workforce in the region and give a new direction to women empowerment.
Ujjain Collector Shri Raushan Kumar Singh said that in the last two and a half years, land has been allotted to 246 new industrial units in Ujjain district. This involves an investment of around Rs 16,150 crore and is likely to create more than 14,500 direct employment opportunities. 94 plots have been allotted so far in Vikram Udyogpuri, developed in an area of around 773 acres, with an expected investment of around Rs 6,480 crore. Land has been allotted to 74 industrial units in Medical Device Park developed in 360 acres. An investment of around Rs 2,894 crore is proposed in this. Vikram Udyogpuri Phase-II is being developed on 488 hectares of land to meet the growing demand of industries, where land has been allotted to reputed companies like Alchem Laboratories, Adani Group and Volvo Eicher. An investment of around Rs 4,800 crore is proposed in these projects, while additional investment proposals of over Rs 15,000 crore have also been received from more than 35 other industrial units.
Collector Ujjain Shri Singh said that the first phase of the under construction IT Park has not been completed. More than 315 crore rupees are being invested by M/s Best Life Corporation and M/s Pratibha Swaraj Limited in the textile and apparel sector, which will provide employment to more than 5 thousand people, especially women.
Local MLA Mr. Anil Jain Kaluheda, MLA Mr. Satish Malviya, Chairman of Ujjain Development Authority Mr. Ravi Solanki, Chairman Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board Mr. Om Jain, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Ashish Singh, Inspector General of Police Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Navneet Bhasin along with public representatives and senior administrative officers were present.
