When the hidden talents in remote areas of Bastar receive the right guidance, they achieve great heights and create history. Under the guidance of Bastar Collector Mr. Akash Chhikara, the free “Gyangudi” coaching institute, run by the district administration and the education department, has once again proven its worth and excellence. Four promising students of the institute have successfully secured MBBS seats in prestigious government colleges, successfully clearing the first round of NEET counseling. As part of this achievement, Sameer Markam and Geeteshwari Salam have been admitted to the Government Medical College, Dimrapal, Jagdalpur, Kumari Krishna Sen to Kanker Medical College, and Khushboo Biswas to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur.
In this historic moment of success, the selected students paid a courtesy visit to the Collectorate of Bastar, Mr. Chhikara, and attributed their success to his constant guidance. The Collector congratulated the students on their exceptional performance and gifted tablets to each of them to digitally assist them in their future higher education. During the meeting, he commended the hard work of the successful students, their teachers, and parents. He made an emotional appeal to them to return to Bastar after completing their medical studies and contribute to the service of the needy people and society.
Sharing their experiences, the students explained that Collector Mr. Chhikara’s pinpoint study and preparation tips throughout the year strengthened their strategy, enabling them to reach this prestigious position in their first attempt. It is noteworthy that Collector Mr. Chhikara has been regularly visiting the Gyan Gudi center to personally counsel the students and inspire them with practical experiences from his studies and UPSC preparation. As a result of this dedicated effort, 50 out of 90 students from the institute passed the NEET exam, and four of them secured direct MBBS seats in the first round. Deputy Collector Hira Govarna, Gyan Gudi Incharge Mr. Alexander M. Cherian, Mr. G. Srinivas Rao, Mr. Manish Srivastava, and Mr. Sanjeev Biswas were also present on the occasion.
