  • Two self-help groups sanctioned a bank loan of Rs 6 lakh for self-employment activities.

A public problem-solving camp held in the village of Manpur Pahadi in the Khairagarh Chhuikhadan Gandai district under the Good Governance Festival 2026 brought new hope for self-reliance to rural women’s groups. At the camp, various self-help groups were linked to self-employment activities and provided bank loans, giving women the opportunity to become financially strong.

The Jai Ma Bamleshwari group of Singarpur village was approved a bank loan of Rs 3 lakh for brick manufacturing and grocery store operation. The women of the group said that this assistance will enable them to start employment in the village and help increase their family income.

Similarly, the Baiga women’s self-help group, Jai Maa Narmada, from the village of Tumradah, under the Singarpur Panchayat, was also provided a bank loan of ₹3 lakh. The group will operate centering plates and manufacture brooms. The women in the group explained that starting a business was difficult due to a lack of resources, but now, with government support, they can move forward towards self-employment.

Expressing gratitude to the government and administration, the women said that camps like Good Governance Festival are becoming an effective means of economic empowerment for women in rural areas. Officials stated that through the Bihan Yojana, continuous efforts are being made to make women’s groups self-reliant by connecting them with employment-oriented activities.
