- Lecture and poetry recitation held at ATI on Hindi Diwas; Hindi highlighted as a language of public connection
A grand lecture and poetry recitation event was organized at the ATI auditorium on the occasion of Hindi Diwas by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language, Government of Jharkhand. Departmental Secretary Shri Pravin Toppo stated that the true hallmark of good governance lies in simple Hindi, accessible procedures, and a transparent system. When official language is understood by the common people, the benefits of schemes reach them directly. He emphasized the need to simplify work for citizens by reducing unnecessarily complex terminology and procedures in offices.
The Secretary noted that the use of technology is enhancing transparency, making every decision and process clear and accountable. Public trust is strengthened through online services, time-bound disposal of matters, and the monitoring of grievances.
He urged all officers and employees to prioritize the public interest and adopt simple language and a clear working style, ensuring that governance becomes truly trustworthy and close to the people.
During the program, several renowned poets and scholars from the Hindi-speaking region highlighted the richness, sensitivity, and vast scope of Hindi through their works. Writers, officials, and students present at the event participated with great enthusiasm.
Speakers remarked that Hindi is not merely a language but a powerful medium for public engagement and cultural unity. Describing Hindi as a “harmonious blend of dialects and language,” they noted that it has continuously enriched itself by assimilating the country’s diverse regional languages and dialects. This very characteristic makes Hindi the language of the masses.
During the poetry recitation session, poets presented works centered on social issues, patriotism, cultural diversity, and contemporary topics, which were highly appreciated by the audience. Scholars emphasized that Hindi played a pivotal role in the freedom movement and continues to unite the country today. They also noted that regional languages play a role in the progress of Hindi… …has made a significant contribution.
It was also noted during the program that the nature of Hindi is continuously evolving within a global context, reflecting an amalgamation of words from various languages. Speakers urged for collective efforts to develop Hindi not merely as a legacy of the past, but as a language of the future.
The event concluded with a pledge to promote and enrich the Hindi language.
Prominent scholars present to recite poetry included Dr. Jinder Singh Munda (Head, Post-Graduate Department of Hindi, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University), Dr. Kedar Singh (Retired Professor, Vinoba Bhave University), Dr. Vandana Tete (renowned poet and writer), Dr. Savitri Baraik (Assistant Professor, SS Memorial College), and Dr. Kumari Urvashi, among others. Mr. Sanjay Rajak, Deputy Secretary, delivered the welcome address. Key attendees from the Department of Personnel included Joint Directors Mr. Asif Hasan and Mr. Ishtiyaq Ahmed, along with Mrs. Shalini Khalkho (ATI) and Additional Director Mrs. Seema Singh.
