Governor Shri Deka Administers Oath of Office to Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra as Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court

Governor Shri Ramen Deka administered the oath of office to Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra as the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court today at the ‘Chhattisgarh Mandapam’ in Lok Bhavan. Prior to this appointment, Shri Krushna Ram Mohapatra served as a senior judge at the Orissa High Court. Governor Shri Deka handed over the copy of the warrant of appointment issued by the President to Chief Justice Shri Krushna Ram Mohapatra and extended his congratulations and best wishes.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Tokhan Sahu, former Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Lakshmi Verma, MLAs Shri Sunil Soni and Shri Anuj Sharma, along with other public representatives, were present on the occasion.

Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court, including Chief Justice Shri Mohapatra’s wife Smt. Anita Mohapatra, attended the ceremony. The proceedings were conducted by the State’s Chief Secretary, Shri Vikas Sheel, who read out the warrant issued by the President. Senior state government officials—including Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrat Sahu, Principal Secretary (Home Department) Smt.

Niharika Barik, Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam, Secretary to the Governor Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Advocate General Shri Vivek Sharma, and High Court Registrar General Shri Rajnish Srivastava—as well as High Court advocates, were present at the event.

It is noteworthy that Shri Mohapatra will be the 16th Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh.
