Hope Ignited by ‘School Keinta’ in the Remote Regions of Abujhmad

  • Path to education and dreams made easier for children of Ghamandi; hardships of rugged mountains and 10-km treks eliminated
  • Caste certificates issued to 22 children within the village itself; future of remote areas being shaped by 34 new alternative schools
  • ‘Seva Sankalp’ (Pledge of Service) transforming the face of remote villages

When determination is strong, even the most arduous paths become accessible. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and ‘School Keinta Abhiyan’ operating in the remote regions of Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district have proven this true. Children who were once deprived of education due to geographical challenges and vast distances are now acquiring basic literacy within their own villages, laying the foundation for a bright future.
Under this compassionate initiative, over 2,000 children have been brought into the educational mainstream so far, while 34 new alternative primary schools are successfully operating in extremely inaccessible areas.

  • The arduous 10-kilometer trek is now a thing of the past

The story of Ghamandi village, falling under the Garpa cluster center, is a living example of this transformation. Innocent children here once had to trek approximately 10 kilometers to Kodenar for primary education. Dense forests, rocky terrain, and the long distance prevented them from attending school regularly.
Recognizing this long-standing struggle faced by children and parents, the district administration established the ‘Ghamandi Alternative Primary School’ right within the village. Currently, 30 children are enrolled in this school.
Local education volunteer Kosa Ram Vadde is playing a heroic role in ensuring the smooth functioning of this system by engaging the village children in regular studies. Children no longer have to struggle to access education; along with schooling, they have received the gift of their rights. In addition to opening schools in villages, the administration is bringing essential services right to their doorsteps to secure their future. Recently, caste certificates were prepared and distributed to 22 children who had enrolled last year at the Ghamandi Alternative School. Obtaining these vital documents has not only brought immense joy to the children and their parents but has also paved the way for them to avail themselves of various government scholarships, educational schemes, and civic amenities in the future.
Through this campaign, more than 2,000 children have been brought into the educational fold. Operations have commenced for 34 new alternative schools in remote areas. With educational facilities now available within their own villages, children have been spared the ordeal of an exhausting 10-kilometer commute.

  • The ‘School Keinta Campaign’: Setting an Example

This sustained effort by the district administration demonstrates that with genuine commitment, the light of development can reach even the most marginalized individuals. The ‘School Keinta Campaign’ is not only ensuring student enrollment but is also setting a new precedent for other aspirational districts in the state by streamlining local educational systems and facilitating the preparation of essential documents.
