Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is committed to the prosperity of food providers. For this purpose, income increasing activities like animal husbandry, fish farming are being encouraged and promoted in the region in Kisan Kalyan Varsha. Special attention is being given to better management of ponds and reservoirs in the region. Along with agriculture, the fisheries sector is also developing immense prospects for the prosperity of the food provider. The fishermen community of the region earn their livelihood through fish farming. For the betterment of all these activities under Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Policy 2026 are being given international expansion. The agreement signed today between Kuwait’s leading fish company and Kamdars Care Indore will create a new history in the field of fisheries and fisher welfare in the region. Chief Minister Dr. In the presence of Yadav, an investment and buy back agreement worth Rs 7 thousand 430 crore was signed in the region between Zabedi Al Kuwait Fisheries Company and Kamdars Care Indore, the leading fish company of Kuwait. This agreement is under Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Policy 2026. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views after signing the agreement at Samatva Bhawan, Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. Minister of State for Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development (Independent Charge) Mr. Narayan Singh Panwar, MLA Mr. Rameshwar Sharma and President of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Fish Trade Union Mr. Fares Boukammaz were present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has enough reservoirs for fisheries development. This will boost exports along with meeting the food requirements of the country. There is immense potential in Madhya Pradesh for the development of agriculture and food grains. Kuwait is our friendly country, the state government is working fast with full dedication to bring the foreign investment proposals in the region to the ground, now the positive results are also being witnessed. In future, Madhya Pradesh will create a distinct identity in the field of fisheries.

Chief Minister Dr. During the agreement in the presence of Yadav, it was informed that under the Madhya Pradesh Integrated Fisheries Policy-2026, there is a provision to attract private and foreign investment for the development of modern export oriented and value added fisheries industry in the state. Under the contract, backward and forward linkage based infrastructure including cage culture will be developed in Indira Sagar, Bargi, Bansagar and Barna reservoirs with an estimated investment of Rs.7 thousand 430 crores. An additional fish production of about 4 lakh tonnes is expected through cage culture. Along with this, 1 lakh 23 thousand tons of vegetables will also be produced from aquaponics, hydroponics, green houses etc. This new initiative will create 15 thousand direct and 20 thousand indirect employment opportunities in the region. The target of fish export from the region is about 6 thousand crore rupees. The fishermen of the region will especially benefit from this initiative of the state government.
