MATS School of Pharmacy, MATS University, celebrated World Pharmacist Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. The programme focused on highlighting the important role of pharmacists in healthcare and spreading awareness about health, disease prevention, and the responsible use of medicines.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting in honour of Prof. M. L. Schroff, the Father of Indian Pharmacy, led by the Principal, Dr. Amit Nayak. The lamp-lighting ceremony symbolized respect for the pioneering contributions of Prof. M. L. Schroff to pharmacy education and the development of the pharmacy profession in India.
Following the inauguration, Dr. Santosh Kumar Prajapti administered the Pharmacy Oath, which was collectively taken by all students and faculty members. The oath reaffirmed their commitment to the principles, responsibilities, and professional ethics of the pharmacy profession.
As part of the celebration, students participated enthusiastically in an awareness rally to convey important messages related to healthcare and the role of pharmacists in society. The students also presented an engaging Nukkad Natak (street play), through which they communicated healthcare-related messages and created awareness among the public in an interactive manner.
The celebration was further enriched by Poster Making and Rangoli Competitions, in which students creatively presented messages related to healthcare, disease prevention, rational use of medicines, patient safety, and the role of pharmacists in promoting community health.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The collective efforts of the organizing team and participants made the celebration meaningful and successful.
The event concluded successfully with a renewed commitment to strengthening pharmacy education, healthcare awareness, professional ethics, and community engagement. MATS School of Pharmacy continues to encourage students to contribute positively to society and uphold the values and responsibilities of the pharmacy profession.
