MLA (Raipur South) Sunil Soni, Mayor Meenal Chaubey, Chairman Suryakant Rathore, District President Ramesh Thakur, Councilor Krishna Sonkar, and Zone 5 President Ambar Agrawal arrived at the Kushalpur Akhada to perform the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for new development works worth ₹9 lakh—funded by the Municipal Corporation—aimed at the Akhada’s renovation and upgrade, thereby presenting a wonderful gift to the city residents.
Raipur – Today, MLA Sunil Soni and Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey visited the Maa Danteshwari Akhada located at the Maa Danteshwari Temple in Kushalpur (within the capital city’s municipal limits) to extend heartfelt greetings to the citizens on the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami (Shravan Shukla Panchami). Mayor Meenal Chaubey fulfilled the promise she had made to the Akhada’s wrestlers. This brought great joy to the Akhada committee members and wrestlers, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to MLA Sunil Soni and Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey for securing approval for the Akhada’s upgrade and necessary improvements from the Municipal Corporation’s general fund (for Ward 66, Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe Ward) and for inaugurating the work through the groundbreaking ceremony.
On the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami, a wonderful gift was presented to the city residents as Raipur South MLA Shri Sunil Soni, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Suryakant Rathore, Zone 5 President Shri Ambar Agrawal, Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe Ward Councilor Shri Krishna Sonkar, District President Ramesh Thakur, and other dignitaries, social activists, and wrestling enthusiasts—alongside Maa Danteshwari Akhada committee members—performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Akhada’s upgrade (sanctioned at a cost of ₹9 lakh by the Municipal Corporation) by breaking a ceremonial coconut and performing the ritual digging. Mr. Ambar Agarwal, Chairperson of Municipal Corporation Zone 5, extended his heartfelt thanks—on behalf of the zone—to Raipur South MLA Mr. Sunil Soni, Mayor Mrs. Minal Chaubey, Chairman Mr. Suryakant Rathore, and Councilor Mr. Krishna Sonkar (Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe Ward) for inaugurating the new development work involving the repair and upgradation of the Maa Danteshwari Akhada in Purani Basti on the occasion of Nag Panchami.
Mayor Mrs. Minal Chaubey instructed Zone 5 Commissioner Mr. Khirsagar Nayak to prioritize the immediate commencement of the approved repair and upgradation work at the Maa Danteshwari Akhada (Purani Basti) using the Municipal Corporation’s general fund. She directed him to ensure the project is completed with high quality within the stipulated timeframe through continuous monitoring.
