- Flatted Factory to be Built in Dhamtari and Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 in Rajnandgaon
A high-level meeting of the Project Formulation and Implementation Committee (PFIC) under the Department of Commerce and Industries was held today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the proposal to construct a ‘plug-and-play’ flatted factory complex at Village Kachna in Dhamtari district. The discussion covered the proposed site, estimated costs, and the construction of factory buildings on government land. The project entails a total built-up area of 43,200 square meters, comprising ground-floor and multi-story buildings. It is proposed to provide space for a total of 96 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The site is located one kilometer off the Old Dhamtari Road, approximately 32 km from the capital, Raipur, and 41 km from the Dhamtari district headquarters. The complex will come equipped with ready-to-use infrastructure, including electricity, water supply, roads, sewerage, and shared public amenities. This will enable industrialists to install machinery and commence production immediately, thereby saving time and capital while boosting the ‘Ease of Doing Business.’
Additionally, the committee approved an infrastructure development plan worth ₹469.61 crore for establishing a new Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 at Village Pateva in the Ghumka Tehsil of Rajnandgaon district. The funding comprises a central share of ₹210.56 crore and a state share of ₹259.05 crore. The proposal for this project has already been approved by the 12th Project Review Committee of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The cluster will span a total area of 306.56 acres, with industrial plots being developed across 150.56 acres. The establishment of four major anchor units within the cluster is also proposed.
The proposed infrastructure includes the construction of four multi-story flatted factory buildings. These will house an administrative building, a shopping complex, and a common facility center. Additionally, a hostel with a capacity of 250 beds for employees will be built, and electrical infrastructure—comprising a 5 MVA capacity substation, solar streetlights, and an 11 kV HT line network—will be installed.
The meeting was attended by officials including Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua (Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department), Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bansal (Secretary, Public Works Department), Mr. Ankit Anand (Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology and Housing & Environment Departments), Mr. Bhuvanesh Yadav (Secretary, Tribal Development Department), and Mr. Saransh Mittar (Secretary, Energy Department), alongside officials from the Commerce and Industries, Water Resources, Public Health Engineering, Finance, Planning and Economic Statistics, and other departments.
