- Minister participated in the 9th National Nutrition Month program in Jalabandha, performed baby shower for pregnant women and Annaprashan for children.
Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade today inspected Anganwadi centers in Jalabandha and Saloni villages of Khairagarh district and took stock of the arrangements for children’s primary education, nutrition and care. She interacted cordially with the children in the Anganwadi centers, inquiring about their learning process and various activities, and praised the children’s enthusiasm and self-confidence.
Minister Smt. Rajwade observed the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities being conducted at the Jalabandha and Saloni Anganwadi centers. She instructed Anganwadi workers to ensure playful learning, activity-based education, and a child-friendly environment appropriate to the children’s age. She said that a strong foundation for children’s mental and physical development is laid in the early stages, and Anganwadi centers play a vital role in this.
Pregnant women’s baby shower and children’s Annaprashan during the National Nutrition Month program

Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade participated in the 9th National Nutrition Month program held at the Jalabandha Anganwadi Center campus. She participated in the baby shower ceremony for pregnant women and distributed nutrition kits to them. She also performed the first feeding of the children and wished them a healthy and bright future. She also presented loan assistance checks to two women under the Saksham scheme.
Minister Smt. Rajwade said that to reduce malnutrition, it is essential to pay special attention to the diet and health of mothers, starting from pregnancy. She urged children to be provided with a balanced diet rich in protein and nutrients, and for parents to spend adequate time with their children, interact with them, and prevent excessive mobile phone use.
- Appeal to make the campaign ‘Munga in every house, Munga in every house’ a mass movement
Minister Smt. Rajwade said that the 9th National Nutrition Month, held from September 9th to October 8th, should not be limited to Anganwadi centers only, but rather the message of nutrition should reach every household in the state. She appealed for the promotion of the “Munga in every home, Munga in every home” campaign and urged the inclusion of locally available Munga, green vegetables and other nutritious foods in children’s diets.

He urged women to become aware of nutrition themselves and inspire the women in their families and surrounding communities to do the same. He said that a healthy mother lays the foundation for a healthy child, and healthy children form the foundation of a strong society and a prosperous Chhattisgarh. He also called for promoting nutrition awareness activities on the occasion of the upcoming Teej festival.
On this occasion, District Panchayat Vice President Shri Vikrant Singh along with public representatives, officers and employees of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, Anganwadi workers-assistants, pregnant women and a large number of rural women were present.
