More Village More Water Campaign will give a new dimension to water conservation

  • Training cum workshop organized on construction of water structures with public participation

Training and awareness activities are being organized in various districts under the “More Village, More Water” campaign, aimed at promoting water conservation and groundwater enrichment in the state. In this sequence, a one-day training and workshop on the construction of water structures based on public participation was organized in the District Panchayat of Wadrafnagar in Balrampur district.

The workshop provided detailed information on the effective implementation of water conservation activities at the village level and the construction of 5% model structures and other water conservation structures with public participation. Sarpanchs, Panchayat secretaries, and technical assistants were provided information on approved works, structure selection, technical parameters, and the implementation process.

Officials stated that the objective of the More Village More Water campaign is to make villages water-rich and ensure a permanent solution to the water crisis. To achieve this, special emphasis is being placed on rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and conservation of natural water sources. Active community participation will make water conservation efforts more effective.

All the Sarpanchs, Panchayat Secretaries, Technical Assistants, and related officers and employees of the District Panchayat Wadrafnagar participated in the training-cum-workshop held in Balrampur district. Participants pledged to effectively implement the campaign in their respective areas and to involve as many villagers as possible.

The program also provided information about the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. The state government is continuously making efforts to transform water conservation into a mass movement, ensuring the conservation and enhancement of water resources in rural areas.
