National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination 2025-26 concluded

  • 28,570 candidates appeared in 132 examination centres.

Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur successfully and systematically organized the examination in the state on 02 May 2026 under the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSE) 2025-26 of the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Under the patronage of Board Chairperson Mrs. Renu G. Pillai, the direction of Secretary Mrs. Pushpa Sahu, and the guidance of Deputy Secretaries Dr. B. Raghu and Mrs. Monica Jayanshine, the examination was conducted in two shifts. The Intellectual Aptitude Test (MAT) was conducted in the first shift, and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) was conducted in the second shift.
Examination Nodal Officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahu informed that the state of Chhattisgarh has been allocated a total quota of 2,246 scholarships for this examination. A total of 31,810 candidates were registered at 132 examination centers across the state, of which 28,570 appeared and 3,237 were absent. There were zero instances of cheating during the examination.

The District Education Officer ensured the necessary arrangements at each examination center for the smooth conduct of the examination. In addition, inspection teams from the district administration and flying squads from the divisional office conducted surprise inspections of the examination centers. The entire examination was conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner.
Scholarship Scheme Details

Under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme, students of class 8th of government, government-aided and local body schools run by the state government are eligible, who have obtained minimum 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST) in class 7th and whose parents/guardians’ annual income does not exceed Rs 3.50 lakh.
Selected students will be provided a scholarship of ₹1000/- per month from class 9th to 12th by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
