- Focus on public amenities; priority given to electricity, water and housing

School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav said that it should be ensured that the benefits of schemes related to public life like Prime Minister Housing and Chief Minister Housing Scheme, ration card, fertilizer-seed storage, education, health, irrigation, electricity and drinking water reach the last person in a timely, transparent and effective manner. He directed to ensure prompt and sensitive resolution of all applications received during ‘Good Governance Festival’, so that the public can avail the benefits of government schemes without any delay.
Minister Shri Yadav reviewed the preparations for Good Governance Festival and the progress made by departments in the meeting hall of the Public Works Department (PWD) Circuit House in Durg district. Instructing all officials to work with full accountability, he said that expediting administrative work and effectively implementing public welfare schemes is the government’s priority. He clarified that the benefits of the schemes should reach the public directly and any kind of negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. Shri Yadav informed that the Chief Minister, Minister in-charge, and other public representatives will conduct surprise inspections of the camps from time to time and seek direct feedback from the public.
- Major departmental instructions-
Expeditious resolution of revenue cases: Pending revenue cases, especially those that have exceeded their deadlines, should be resolved on a priority basis. Ordinary citizens should not have to run around offices.
Education and Model Schools: One school in Durg district should be developed as a “model school.” Additionally, special coaching should be provided to female students at the Adarsh Girls School to prepare for competitive examinations such as the SRM and CHMM.
Hostel Improvement – Expressing concern over the condition of 34 hostels in the district, the Minister directed the Tribal Development Commissioner to conduct a comprehensive inspection. He directed immediate improvements to any deficiencies found in food, sanitation, and security.
Food and Ration Distribution – Fair price shops operated by the same individuals for a long time should be reviewed and opportunities should be given to new eligible individuals. Shops must have a ration stock for the next three months.
Health Services: Doctors should be required to be present in primary and community health centers. Special campaigns should be launched in villages to check blood pressure and sugar levels.
MNREGA and tree plantation- The Forest Divisional Officer was instructed to mark the land for extensive tree plantation before the month of June.
Agriculture and Irrigation – Ensure adequate availability of fertilizers and seeds in societies. Farmers should be encouraged to grow low-water crops (soybean, pigeon pea, and chickpea). There should be no shortage of seeds in the 19 new societies in the district.
Electricity System – Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Electrification Scheme, surveys should be conducted to install necessary power poles and expand infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted supply. Minister Yadav concluded with a stern tone, stating that implementation of schemes should not be limited to paper or statistics, but rather, their impact should be visible on the ground.
District Panchayat President Mrs. Saraswati Banjare, Durg District President Mrs. Kuleshwari Devangan, Collector Mr. Abhijeet Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Deepesh Kapil, Additional Collector Mr. Virendra Singh, Commissioners of various Municipal Corporations (Bhilai, Durg, Charoda, Risali) and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
