The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Chhattisgarh, enthusiastically celebrated National Statistics Day today at Indravati Bhawan, Nava Raipur. The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reliable and quality statistical data, evidence-based policymaking, and the effective use of administrative data.
Director of Planning, Economics and Statistics Department, Mr. Tirthraj Agrawal said that reliable statistical data is a strong foundation for effective policy making, good governance and inclusive development. Chief Guests Prof. Preeti K. Suresh (Director, MMTTC) and Prof. Dharmendra Kumar Gangeshwar (Head of Department, Statistical Study Centre, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University) also highlighted the role of accurate and reliable data in policy making, research and successful implementation of development plans. Additional Director Mr. N. Buliwal elaborated on the relevance of National Statistics Day and the role of statistics.
In the technical session, Deputy Director Shri Dinesh Kumar Tiwari gave a presentation on “Unlocking Potential Administrative Data” and made the participants aware of the possibilities of better use of administrative data. After this, the participants gave presentations on the use of administrative data and MLALAD’s Online Portal. The statistical understanding and knowledge of the participants was also tested through a quiz competition organized in the program. Joint Directors Shri Suresh Kumar Banjare, Domar Singh Verma along with departmental officers, employees and contestants were present in the program.
