- DGP Shri Kailash Makwana directed the Zonal Inspector Generals of Police and Superintendents of Police for special vigilance and effective coordination.
A video conference of Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police was organized under the chairmanship of Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana. In the meeting, Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana directed all Zonal Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police to prepare a comprehensive security plan to maintain law and order, traffic management, security and communal harmony during Moharram, Tajiya processions, other religious events, proposed visit of His Excellency the President and VIP programs and ensure its effective implementation.
DGP Shri Makwana said that special vigilance should be kept on traditionally sensitive areas, procession routes, religious places during upcoming festivals and events. An atmosphere of social harmony and mutual harmony should be maintained by establishing regular communication with peace committees, religious leaders and local public representatives.
He directed the officials to continuously monitor the misleading information, rumours, and objectionable content spread on social media and other digital media and ensure prompt legal action against any kind of inflammatory or law and order activities. Timely assessment of possible challenges and necessary preventive measures should be taken by keeping intelligence in sensitive areas active.
The DGP said that the available police force, riot control equipment, vehicles, communication resources, CCTV surveillance system and emergency response mechanism should be reviewed and kept fully active and ready. He also directed that the functioning of CCTV cameras should be ensured at the places where CCTV cameras are installed and the monitoring system of important public places and police installations should not be disturbed under any circumstances.
In the meeting, the security arrangements of His Excellency the President’s proposed visit to Madhya Pradesh and other VIP and VVIP programs were also reviewed. Officials were directed to give top priority to prescribed security protocols, route security, anti-sabotage checks, traffic management, crowd control and coordinated security arrangements. Emphasis was placed on completing all security arrangements in a timely manner by establishing coordination with the concerned departments and agencies.
