- Health and Pension-Related Services Made Easier via HMIS and PPO/Life Certificate Portal
Advancing the objectives of ‘Special Campaign 6’, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) is enhancing administrative efficiency, transparency, and the accessibility of services through digital platforms. Initiatives such as the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and the PPO/Life Certificate portal are simplifying access to healthcare and pension-related services for employees, pensioners, and their family members.
Operating under the Ministry of Coal, these initiatives by SECL are driving the campaign’s ‘good governance’ goals by reducing paperwork, ensuring systematic record management, and facilitating the prompt delivery of services.
- Integrated Digital Management of Healthcare Services via HMIS
SECL’s HMIS provides an integrated digital platform for managing healthcare services. It digitally records information related to patient registration, medical consultations, treatments, and medication. This ensures the systematic maintenance of medical records and makes it easy to retrieve information regarding a patient’s past treatment.
The system also facilitates the online processing of medical reimbursement claims. Furthermore, the integration of ‘Amrit Pharmacy’ and features for medication management are helping to streamline administrative processes and improve the quality of healthcare services.
- Digital Facilities for Pensioners: PPO and Life Certificate Portal
To assist retired employees and the eligible spouses of deceased employees, SECL has developed a centralized PPO/Life Certificate portal. Through this, Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) can be accessed and downloaded online. The portal also simplifies the process of submitting annual ‘Life Certificates’ digitally.
This system reduces reliance on physical documentation and manual procedures. The governance dashboard linked to the portal assists in monitoring the uploading of PPOs (Pension Payment Orders) and ensuring related compliance across various areas of SECL. This facilitates more effective review of work progress and enhances administrative coordination.
- Emphasis on Improved Records Management and Prompt Services
The implementation phase of ‘Special Campaign 6’ is being conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2024. The campaign focuses specifically on cleanliness, e-waste management, optimal utilization of available space, records management, and the resolution of pending cases.
In line with these objectives, SECL’s digital initiatives promote paperless operations, improved records management, and easier access to services. Through the HMIS (Hospital Management Information System) and the PPO/Jeevan Pramaan (Life Certificate) portal, the company is continuously working to make essential services more accessible and convenient for its employees, pensioners, and their families.
