- Instructions for speedy completion of Ring Road, Bridges, Marine Drive, Oxygen Zone and modern infrastructure projects
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to a developed India and the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, infrastructure development in Chhattisgarh is gaining new momentum. In this regard, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary conducted a marathon inspection of the city’s major development projects on Friday, aiming to develop Raigarh into a modern and well-organized city. He reviewed projects related to the Oxygen Zone, bridges, the Kelo River Front, Marine Drive, the Nalanda Complex, sports and public facilities, and directed them to ensure quality and timely completion.
Finance Minister Choudhary began the inspection at the Milk Dairy Oxygen Zone. He then inspected the under-construction bridge over the Kelo River in Govardhanpur, the Kelo River Front at Kharraghat, the Nalanda Complex, the SECL Road Marine Drive, the Kayaghat Bridge, the skating ring at the Mini Stadium, the Kauhakunda Housing Board Colony, the stadium, and the FCI Oxygen Zone.
Choudhary stated that public representatives, administrative officials, engineers, and construction agencies are working together to develop Raigarh. The objective is not merely to carry out construction work, but to bring about real change in the lives of people by strengthening the city’s infrastructure. He stated that each project is being closely monitored to ensure speedy and high-quality development.
Finance Minister Mr. Chaudhary stated that the level of infrastructure development in Raigarh, commensurate with industrial growth, has not been achieved at the expected pace for a long time. Consequently, the city faced problems such as traffic congestion, heavy vehicles, accidents, dust, and pollution. Major infrastructure projects are now being planned to address these challenges permanently. Describing the Ring Road as a crucial project for Raigarh’s future, he said that the land acquisition process is progressing rapidly. The first phase of work is underway to connect Gharghodha Road to Jharsuguda Road, which is expected to cost over ₹400 crore. In the future, efforts will also be made to expand the road from Raigha to Gharghodha to four-lane. The picture of Raigha’s development will be clearly visible on the ground in the next one or two years.
Our effort is to provide the city with better roads, bridges, green areas, modern public facilities and strong infrastructure, which will bring about a comprehensive change in the lives of the citizens. Mayor Shri Jivardhan Chauhan, Chairman Shri Degreelal Sahu, Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Brijesh Singh Kshatriya, local public representatives, dignitaries and departmental officers, engineers and representatives of the concerned construction agencies were present during the inspection.
