- Sevankur instructs the founders of medical colleges for effective implementation of MoU with India
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that the purpose of medical education is not only to impart better medical knowledge and skills to the students, but it is equally important to develop in them a sense of service, sensitivity, humanitarian values and responsibility towards the society. It is the need of the hour to bring positive change in the practice of young doctors and make them sensitive doctors who understand the feelings of patients and their families. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that for this purpose Madhya Pradesh Government has entered into an MoU with Sevankur India. Sevankur India is an organization working among medical students, currently associated with more than 200 medical colleges of the country and more than 17 thousand students. The institute is working to develop among the students a sense of service, leadership, sensitivity and responsibility towards the nation. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla reviewed the “Ek Saptha Desh Ke Naam” campaign in the Ministry.
- The doctor’s transaction for the patient is also part of the treatment
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that the doctor’s smile, his behavior and sensitive communication with the patient often plays an important role in the treatment process. When a patient or his family reaches the hospital in a difficult situation, he looks to the doctor with hope and faith. In such a time, the doctor’s cooperation, intimate relationship and trusting communication create positive energy in the patient’s mind and faith towards the treatment. Therefore, the development of sensitivity and service spirit in the personality of young doctors should be an important part of their medical education.
- A young doctor who understands rural India closely
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that “Ek Saptha Desh Ke Naam” campaign can become an important medium in this direction. Through this, medical students and young doctors will get an opportunity to go among different sections of the society, especially people from rural and deprived areas and understand their lives and conditions closely. He said that when students get a close look at rural India, where they understand the social and economic conditions, health challenges and expectations of the people, they will develop empathy for patients as well as real sensitivity and a sense of service. This experience will motivate them to provide medical services with more responsibility and humanitarian approach in future.
- Sanskar is also necessary to increase the number and seats of medical colleges
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh government is continuously working on increasing the number of medical colleges in the state along with increase in medical seats and recruitment of doctors. A large number of youth will enter the medical field in the near future. In such a situation, it is also necessary to ensure that the new generation coming in the field of medicine is enriched with knowledge and technical skills as well as service and humanitarian values. He said that today’s medical students will be the important pillars of tomorrow’s doctors and healthcare system. Therefore, increasing their engagement with the community during their training and exposing them to various service opportunities will improve the health services of the region in the long run.
- Instructions to carry forward the campaign in each medical college
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla expected the founders of all the medical colleges of the state to take forward the MoU with Sevankur India as an effective and continuous initiative. He directed that a college representative be nominated in each medical college. An introductory session of Sevankur Bharat should be organized to inform the students about the objectives and activities of the organization. Interested students should be encouraged to voluntarily join the campaign “Ek Saptha Desh Ke Naam”. To develop continuous and meaningful collaboration between Sevankur Bharat and Medical Colleges. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav initiated MoU with Swayam Sevankur Bharat. Its aim is to make the efforts being made in the field of medicine more effective and to connect medical education more strongly with society and service. So all medical colleges should actively adopt this initiative and play their important role in making its objectives successful.
- A new generation of sensitive physicians will be prepared from the culture of service
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that the government’s effort is to prepare such a generation of doctors in Madhya Pradesh, who are identified not only by their medical expertise, but also by their sense of service, sensitive behavior and social responsibility. He said that sensitivity towards patients, understanding of the conditions of rural and underprivileged communities and sense of service should become a natural part of the personality of young doctors – this will be the real success of this initiative. He expressed confidence that the continued collaboration of medical colleges and Sevankur Bharat will lead to significant success in making medical services in Madhya Pradesh more humane and community-oriented. In the meeting, Principal Secretary Public Health and Medical Education Shri Sukhveer Singh, Commissioner Shri Dhanraju S, Shri Girish Kuber of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Tribal Ministry Council, Dr. Raj Bhavan. Through Dr. Rupnarayan Mandve, VC. Ashwini Kumar Tupkari, Shri Mahadev Padwal, Shri Gaurav Sharma along with the founders of medical institutions of the region were present.
