- Mrs. Tembhere of MSME represented India
Assistant Director of Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Mrs. Ojaswi Tembhere represented India in “Trade Business Development” at the Singapore Five Day International Training organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of Singapore and honored the region and the country. It is noteworthy that only one participant from India was selected for this prestigious training program in which Mrs. Ojaswi Tembhere got the opportunity to represent the country.
Representatives, senior officials and experts from around 25 countries of the world participated in this training program organized at the prestigious Civil Service College of Singapore from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The objective of the program was to acquaint the participants with international best practices related to trade and business development, investment promotion, entrepreneurship development, innovation, economic progress, global cooperation and institutional capacity building.
- Exhibition of Shivpuri Jacket from Madhya Pradesh
The famous Shivpuri Jacket under “One District One Product” of Shivpuri District of Madhya Pradesh was presented as a souvenir/gift to the officials of Ministry of External Affairs of Singapore by Mrs. Tembhere. He also shared information about the characteristics of Shivpuri jacket, the skills of local artisans and the initiatives taken by the Madhya Pradesh government to promote local products. Through this initiative Madhya Pradesh’s rich handicraft tradition, local products and the spirit of “Vocal for Local” were effectively showcased on the international stage.
The participants in the training were taught the successful working practices of Singapore’s economic development model, trade and investment promotion techniques, entrepreneurship and startup ecosystems, skill development programs, innovation-based administrative systems and public service delivery systems. Through lectures, group discussions, interactive sessions and study tours, subject matter experts provided participants with insights into global policies, practical experiences and successful models.
As part of the program, the participants were also given a tour of various prestigious institutes and innovation centers to get a hands-on study of Singapore’s industry, trade and innovation systems. In the training program, Mrs. Ojaswi Tembhere exchanged ideas and experiences with the representatives of different countries and studied the global best practices being adopted in the field of micro, small and medium enterprises, start-ups, innovation and trade promotion. He apprised about the resources available in the region, investor friendly policy and initiatives taken by the state government on Ease of Doing Business (EoDB). Information about various schemes, initiatives and achievements conducted in the field of entrepreneurship development, startup promotion, investment promotion and MSME sector was also shared.
