Unique innovation of teachers in Kohkameta

  • The message of public welfare schemes was conveyed through street plays.

Under the “Namo Seva – Untold Stories” program, run as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, teachers in Kohkameta, a remote area of Narayanpur district, launched an exemplary initiative. The teachers took to the stage and performed a street play to raise awareness among the public about the government’s public welfare schemes and services.
Through their impressive acting, simple dialogue, and creative presentation, the teachers conveyed information about the schemes’ objectives, eligibility, and benefits to the villagers. The play highlighted key schemes like the Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The positive message of the government’s initiatives to make the district Naxal-free was also conveyed.

The teachers, who became artists, highlighted sanitation, safe drinking water, pucca houses, agricultural development, and rural empowerment, urging that information about the schemes reach every household so that no eligible person is deprived of their benefits.
This creative initiative not only provided a platform for the teachers’ artistic talents but also directly connected them to the campaign for public service and social change. The lively presentation of the play deeply impacted the villagers and awakened a sense of public participation in the schemes.
The District Panchayat President, Vice President, Vice President of the Orchha Janpad Panchayat, District Panchayat members, several Sarpanchs from the area, and a large number of villagers were present during the program.
