Every diya taking shape in their hands is not just a clay lamp, but is becoming a symbol of the light of resolve, self-reliance and gratitude.
The ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme organised under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ has also brought happiness in the lives of the women of the group of the district. The huge order of diyas received has given the women an opportunity to celebrate Diwali even before Diwali.
- Laddu Gopal group gets order for 37 thousand diyas.
The sisters of Laddu Gopal Self-Help Group of Mahasamund district have got order for making 37 thousand diyas. Apart from this, orders for a large number of diyas have also been received in various clusters of the district. Khallari cluster has got order for 8 thousand, Khamhariya for 7 thousand, Komakhan for 10 thousand and Tendukona for 9 thousand diyas. The price of one diya is fixed at Rs 1. For women, this is not only a source of income, but also an opportunity to get their skills recognized and move forward towards self-reliance.

Bhoj Bai Chakradhari, president of the group, emotionally explained, “We make diyas from clay, but this time, our emotions are also connected to these diyas. When these diyas are lit, it will be a matter of pride and joy for us. We are getting the opportunity to celebrate Diwali before Diwali. We have received orders for our hard work, a source of income is open, and the diyas we make will further this spirit of service and commitment.”
Rama Chakradhari, Gayatri Sinha, Yogeshwari Diwan, Kavita Diwan, and Sunita Sinha also say that the diyas they are making will spread light, carrying a message of gratitude and service to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For them, this is not just about making diyas, but an opportunity to participate in a major social event through their labor and skills.

It is noteworthy that 6 lakh ‘lamps of blessings’ will be lit in Mahasamund district on the evening of 17th September. There has been a call to light lamps in every house, along with temples, squares, gram panchayats, PDS buildings and major public places. The light of these lakhs of lamps will also include the glow of the labour of those women who have shaped these lamps with their own hands by working day and night.
