Women self-help groups get a permanent platform from Mahatari Sadan, meetings and livelihood activities get a new impetus.

  • Mahatari Sadan in Kerasai becomes a hub for women empowerment and community participation

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Mahatari Sadan in Kersai, Jashpur district, has emerged as an effective center of empowerment for women self-help groups. The construction of this building has provided women with a safe, convenient, and permanent space for regular group meetings, livelihood activities, and social programs. Mrs. Babita Gupta, a member of the women’s self-help group, explained that previously, the lack of a suitable venue for holding group meetings posed significant challenges. Meetings were sometimes held at a member’s home, sometimes in an open space, or under a tree. Meetings were particularly disrupted during the rainy and summer seasons, impacting the group’s activities.

She explained that since the establishment of the Mahatari Sadan, all members are now meeting regularly in one place. Here, group savings, loans, livelihood activities, training, and other important topics are systematically discussed. This has made the group’s operations more effective and has also increased women’s participation. Mrs. Babita Gupta stated that the Mahatari Sadan, built under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, has permanently resolved a long-standing problem for women. They no longer worry about meeting space, and all group activities are running smoothly. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, she said that the Mahatari Sadan is not just a building for women, but has become a strong foundation for organization, self-reliance, and social empowerment. This center is providing women with the opportunity to organize and move forward in a new direction of development.
