As part of a significant initiative to develop Chhattisgarh as a major film production hub in the country, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board held a crucial meeting regarding the development of the Chitrotpala Film City. During the meeting, held in Raipur, Mr. Manoj Taparia, Director of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, and Mr. Adi Sharma, Film Producer, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, and discussed in detail the concept, potential, and future plans for the Chitrotpala Film City being developed in the state.
The meeting emphasized that Chhattisgarh’s unique natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, waterfalls, forest areas, tribal culture, and diverse natural locations make it a highly suitable location for film production. A strategy was discussed to effectively showcase these attributes to national and international filmmakers and make the state an attractive filming destination.
During the discussion, the need was emphasized to develop the Chitrotpala Film City as a comprehensive film complex equipped with modern facilities and providing all the necessary facilities for film production. Besides, there was detailed discussion on promoting film tourism, expanding film production activities in the state and the possibilities of private and institutional cooperation in this field.
Managing Director Mr. Vivek Acharya stated that the development of Chitrotpala Film City will be a milestone for Chhattisgarh’s film and tourism sector. It will give the state a new national identity, accelerate film production activities, and create new employment and skill development opportunities for local artists, technicians, creative youth, and other film professionals. He stated that the development of the film industry will also significantly benefit tourism, hospitality, transportation, handicrafts, and local businesses, giving a new impetus to the state’s economy.
The meeting also agreed to foster continuous dialogue and collaboration with film industry experts, producers, and directors to establish Chhattisgarh as an emerging film production hub. By combining the state’s natural resources, cultural diversity, and the state’s modern film infrastructure, concrete efforts will be made to make Chhattisgarh a preferred destination for national and international film production. The meeting also agreed on the development of Chitrotpala Film City, the expansion of film tourism, and the broad potential for mutual cooperation in the future fields of film production and tourism promotion.
