- District level youth awareness program in Surajpur, more than 250 participants presented strong social consciousness.
- The message of a healthy and drug-free life was given through folk songs, street plays, painting and yoga discussions.
A district-level youth awareness program was organized in Surajpur district under the “Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India” vision and the “Drug-Free India Campaign” to realize the pledge of a developed India in 2047 and to keep the youth away from drug addiction. Held at PM Shri Swami Atmanand Government Excellent English Medium School, Surajpur, approximately 250 participants from various schools and colleges in the district enthusiastically participated in this program.
The program aimed to promote positive thinking, social responsibility, self-control, and a healthy lifestyle among youth. Various competitions, including folk songs, folk dances, street plays, poetry recitations, speeches, painting, and online slogan writing, were organized. Through their creative presentations, participants effectively illustrated the ill effects of drug addiction and the importance of abstaining from it.
The students’ social sensitivity, awareness, and creative talent were particularly evident in the competitions. Mr. Shambhu Prasad Nishad, Mr. Ramchandra Soni, and Mr. Ram Kushal Tiwari served as judges. Participants who excelled were honored and rewarded at the end of the program.

During the yoga discussion held during the program, experts told the youth that yoga is not only for physical health, but also an effective means of maintaining mental balance, a stress-free life, and staying away from addiction. Speakers said that drug-free youth are the greatest strength of a developed India, and through public awareness, this campaign can take the form of a widespread mass movement.
On this occasion, District Education Officer Mrs. Lata Beck, District Mission Coordinator Mr. Manoj Sahu, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Mr. Alok Bhawal, Deputy Director Mr. Ajay Singh, Principal Mr. Manoj Jha, along with officers and employees from various departments, teachers, and a large number of students were present. The program concluded with all participants taking a collective pledge to play an active role in building a drug-free society and to adopt a healthy lifestyle themselves.
