- Bihan’s financial literacy campaign yields positive results, with insurance schemes providing financial support of Rs 4 lakh.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is continuously striving to ensure that the benefits of social security schemes reach every individual. The government’s priority is to connect every eligible family with such schemes, which can provide them with an economic security shield during adverse circumstances. In this direction, the financial literacy campaign conducted through the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihar) yielded positive results in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Following the sudden demise of Mrs. Bhagyawati Porte, a member of the Aarti Self-Help Group in village Mahora, her nominated husband, Mr. Manoj Singh Porte, was provided with a total insurance assistance of ₹4 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Collector Shri Vijay Dayaram K., Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Shri Mukesh Rawate, and Branch Manager of Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank, Pendra, Shri Sumit Kesharwani, jointly handed over the approval documents for assistance amounts of ₹2 lakh each under both schemes to the beneficiary.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is placing special emphasis on economically empowering rural women and connecting them with social security schemes. Under the financial literacy campaign, conducted through the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihar), women in self-help groups are being provided with information about banking services, savings, insurance, and social security schemes. Under this campaign, the late Mrs. Bhagyawati Porte was insured under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, which ensured timely financial assistance to her family after her demise.
After receiving the insurance assistance, Mr. Manoj Singh Porte expressed his gratitude to the state government and district administration, stating that this assistance was a significant support to his family during this difficult time. He stated that the insurance proceeds will be used to support his children’s education, their bright future, and meet essential family needs. A portion of the amount will be invested in the children’s names as fixed deposits to ensure financial security for their future education and other needs.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government aims to ensure that no eligible family is deprived of the benefits of social security schemes. For this reason, through Bihan, a campaign to connect self-help groups with financial literacy, banking services, and insurance schemes is being effectively implemented. This is not only increasing financial awareness among rural women but also providing their families with the assurance of financial security in times of crisis.
The effective implementation of central and state government welfare schemes is bringing positive changes in the lives of needy families. This protective shield of social security schemes is not only providing financial assistance but also instilling confidence and hope for the future in families.
