Ahead of Independence Day, a Freedom Run, imbued with the spirit of patriotism and national unity, was organized in Jashpur. Organized under the joint auspices of the Jashpur District Administration and the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, school children, youth, public representatives, officials, employees, social organizations, and citizens enthusiastically participated in the run. The city of Jashpur was filled with patriotic fervor as participants chanted “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
The Independence Run was flagged off by Jashpur MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat, Municipal Council President Mr. Arvind Bhagat, and Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas from the District Hospital campus at Jaistambh Chowk. The race, which began at 8 a.m., passed through the Bus Stand Chowk and concluded at the Ranjita Stadium.

Encouraging the children and youth participating in the Independence Run, MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat stated that today’s children are the future of the country. She added that August 14th, while celebrating the nation’s independence, is also an occasion to remember the pain of Partition. She paid tribute to those separated from their loved ones during Partition and to the immortal martyrs who sacrificed everything for the nation’s independence. She stated that independent India offers citizens opportunities for education, employment, business, and advancement according to their talents. To build a strong and prosperous India, children should focus on good education and values, and youth should resolve to stay away from drugs and move forward in a positive direction.
- Freedom Run sends the message of a drug-free India
During the program, public representatives, officials, teachers, students, and citizens were sworn in as part of the “Drug-Free India” campaign to actively contribute to the creation of a drug-free society. Those present also pledged to maintain the unity and integrity of the country and play an active role in nation-building.
The Independence Run in Jashpur energized the Independence Day celebrations, spreading the message of patriotism, social unity, and a healthy lifestyle. The large participation of children and youth conveyed the message that the new generation plays a crucial role in building a bright future for the nation.
The program was attended by District President Jashpur, Shri Ganga Ram Bhagat, SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh, District Panchayat CEO, Shri Abhishek Kumar, DFO, Shri Shashi Kumar, along with a large number of public representatives, officers, employees, students, youth, representatives of social organizations, and citizens. NCC, Scouts and Guides, National Service Scheme, Red Cross, Police Force, Forest Department, various sports associations, and media representatives also participated in the Independence Run.
