- presented proposals for 11 industrial parks in an area of 9,047 acres under the Vision Bharat Industrial Development Scheme (Bhavya).
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid the vision of the state government on the issues related to the industrial progress of the region, investment prospects, industrial corridors and development of modern industrial infrastructure in the meeting held in New Delhi by the Third Apex Monitoring Authority of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave information about the prospects of industrial investment in the region, the facilities available for industries and the industrial projects being developed in coordination with the central and state governments. Efforts being made by Madhya Pradesh to accelerate industrial development, create an investment-friendly environment and develop a modern, world-class and investment-ready industrial infrastructure were highlighted.
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister and APEX Monitoring Authority Chairperson Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Shri Sarbanand Sonowal and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri were present in the meeting. In the meeting, Chief Ministers, Industry Ministers and senior officers of various states of the country presented their respective states’ visions on issues related to industrial development and investment.
- Aim to make Madhya Pradesh a major industrial and investment hub
The aim of the state government is to establish the state as a major industrial and investment hub of the country. Industrial development, investment and employment generation in the region are being continuously accelerated through modern industrial infrastructure, investment-friendly policies, plug-and-play facilities and efforts to provide necessary facilities to industries.
In the meeting, the state’s commitment towards the expansion of industrial infrastructure and investment capacity of the region was outlined at the national level through the presentation of the industrial development plans of Madhya Pradesh.
- Proposal of 11 Industrial Parks under Bharat Industrial Development Scheme ( BHAVYA ).
Madhya Pradesh has submitted proposals for 11 Industrial Parks in Phase-I, Round-I under BHAVYA Scheme of Government of India. Under these proposals there is a plan to develop industrial infrastructure in a total area of 9,047.08 acres. The total DPR cost of the proposed projects is Rs.8,144.35 crore. These industrial parks aim to be developed with investment-ready and plug-and-play facilities. This will attract new investment in the region and also expand employment opportunities.
The industrial parks proposed by Madhya Pradesh under Round-I have been distributed in a balanced manner across the various geographical areas of the state, so that the benefits of industrial development can reach the entire state equally. The 11 proposed projects include Avantika Industrial Center (Ujjain), Bhensola (Dhar), Pipalravanan-Palikalan (Dewas-Shajapur), IR Ratlam-Palsodi, Ashta Industrial Cluster (Sehore), Maswasi Grant (Sagar), Chainpura (Guna), Mohana (Gwalior), Dharampura (Jabalpur), Simra (Katni) and Shivsagar (Rewa).
The total area of these projects is more than 9,000 acres. Bhensola Industrial Park is proposed as a textile park, which will be an extension of India’s largest PM MITRA Park located at Dhar and will encompass the entire value chain of the textile sector. In addition, these industrial parks will provide support to various sectors including pharma, automobile, renewable energy equipment, semiconductor, IT and ITeS and will generate extensive direct and indirect employment opportunities.
- Special emphasis on modern facilities for women workers
The state government is also making special efforts to ensure facilities, safety and conducive working environment for women workers in industrial areas. Under this, hostels with day-care center, CCTV based security system, health facilities, necessary utilities, canteen and other facilities are being developed. The objective of these facilities is to increase the participation of women in industrial sectors and provide them with a safe and better working environment.
- Industrial corridors and nodes will give new impetus to investment
Industrial corridors being developed in the region and industrial nodes being established in various areas are providing new impetus to the industrial infrastructure of the region. Coordination of these projects being developed in collaboration with the central government and the investment-friendly policies of the states will play an important role in speedily launching investment proposals in the region.
- Senior ministers of central government also addressed
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister and Apex Monitoring Authority Chairperson Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman gave a special address in the meeting. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Mr. Sarbanand Sonowal and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Mr. Piyush Goyal and Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog Mr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri also addressed the meeting.
Secretary of DPIIT and Chairman of NICDIT Mr. Amardeep Singh Bhatia gave welcome address in the meeting. After this Mr. Rajat Kumar Saini, Chief Executive Officer of NICDIT gave a presentation related to industrial corridors and projects.
