Teachers, the architects of our nation, hold a revered and leading position in society. Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Shri Vijay Sharma attended the ‘Chief Minister’s Shiksha Gaurav Alankaran’—comprising the ‘Shiksha Doot’ and ‘Gyandeep’ award ceremony for the 2026-27 academic session—held at the Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Kawardha. On this occasion, he honored 108 teachers from the district for their outstanding work with the ‘Shiksha Doot’ and ‘Gyandeep’ awards; the honorees included retired teachers as well. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma honored the teachers by presenting them with shawls, coconuts, mementos, and certificates, and extended his best wishes for their contributions. Congratulating the awardees, he remarked that the excellent work they are doing in the field of education serves as a source of inspiration for students and society alike.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma described the values and knowledge received from teachers as relevant and useful even today. He stated that teachers play a pivotal role in nation-building. Teachers are not limited merely to imparting curriculum-based knowledge in the classroom; they also shape students’ personalities and guide their lives in the right direction. He noted that a teacher’s influence on a student’s life endures for a long time; the knowledge imparted in the classroom and the values instilled by teachers prove beneficial at every stage of life. Elected representatives, teachers, and students attended the event, including former Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Siyaram Sahu, Shri Motiram Chandravanshi, Farmers’ Welfare Council Chairman Shri Suresh Chandravanshi, District Panchayat President Shri Ishwari Sahu, Vice President Shri Kailash Chandravanshi, Municipal Council President Shri Chandraprakash Chandravanshi, Municipal Council Vice President Shri Pawan Jaiswal, former District Panchayat President Shri Santosh Patel, Shri Lokchand Sahu, Shri Maniram Sahu, Shri Raja Tatiya, and Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Tiwari.
Sharing memories of his student days, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma mentioned that he studied from Class 6 to Class 12 at Swami Karpatri Ji School. He noted that his teachers taught him a great deal not only through academics but also through sports and other activities. The knowledge imparted by his teachers back then continues to prove useful in his life today. He remarked that the moments spent with his teachers during childhood remain significant, inspiring, and unforgettable, continuing to guide him.

An emotional moment occurred during the program when Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Shri Vijay Sharma honored his former teachers—Shri G.R. Chandel, Shri P.P. Dubey, Shri M.R. Mahobia, Shri Vijendra Srivastava, and Shri M.K. Gupta—by presenting them with a shawl and a coconut (shriphal). He paid his respects and sought their blessings. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that a teacher holds the most important place in one’s life; the education, values, and guidance received from teachers lay a strong foundation for a person’s life.
- Smart Class Facilities in 84 High and Higher Secondary Schools
Providing details on initiatives in the education sector, Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Shri Vijay Sharma announced that smart classrooms are being set up in 84 high and higher secondary schools within the Kawardha assembly constituency. Smart class facilities have already been established in 50 of these schools, while smart classrooms will soon be set up in the remaining 34 schools. He stated that this is a significant initiative aimed at providing better, high-quality education to students through modern technology.
- Construction of Girls’ Toilets in 7,500 Schools
Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Sharma announced that girls’ toilets will be constructed in 7,500 schools, keeping in mind the convenience of female students and the need for a safe educational environment. He stated that the goal is to ensure toilet facilities for girls in every school in the near future. This will provide female students with a better and more convenient school environment and encourage their continued engagement with education.
- Academic Sessions Begin with 50 Seats at the Medical College
Providing an update on the medical college currently under construction in the district, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma noted that the construction work is progressing rapidly. He informed that academic sessions have commenced this year with an intake of 50 students. Describing this as a major achievement for the district, he said it would provide students in the region with better opportunities for medical education. He proudly mentioned that Himanshu Dewangan from Sahaspur Lohara was the first student to secure admission to the medical college.
