Special sanitation arrangements were made by the Municipal Corporation in view of the Bhandara (community feast) events organized at various locations across the city during the Janmashtami festival and fair. Considering the large number of devotees and the waste generated at these sites, the Corporation’s sanitation teams were deployed on a 24/7 basis. Municipal Commissioner Shri Brijesh Singh Kshatriya inspected the sanitation arrangements at all Bhandara sites and personally supervised the cleaning operations. From the commencement of the Bhandara events until their conclusion, the Corporation’s staff carried out immediate cleaning, removing waste and food remnants.
Commissioner personally supervises pressure washing of roads
Following the initial cleanup of the Bhandara sites, Municipal Commissioner Shri Brijesh Singh Kshatriya visited the locations in the morning to personally inspect the cleaning work. He oversaw the sanitation process as roads and Bhandara sites were washed using high-pressure water jets and vacuum tank cleaning equipment.
The Commissioner ensured the complete removal of leftover food, food scraps, filth, and other waste resulting from the events, ensuring the sites appeared clean and orderly after the washing process.
During this operation, the Corporation’s sanitation staff washed major roads and Bhandara sites using machinery. This special cleaning drive, conducted under the Commissioner’s personal supervision, demonstrates the Corporation’s serious commitment to cleanliness—not only during the events but also after their conclusion.

Commissioner Shri Brijesh Singh Kshatriya stated that Raigarh’s Janmashtami festival holds a unique identity in the state. A large number of devotees participate in this major religious event in the city. Ensuring city cleanliness alongside providing better amenities to citizens during such events is a priority for the Municipal Corporation. With this objective, sanitation crews were deployed round-the-clock (24×7) at the Bhandara (community feast) sites.
He stated that the sanitation efforts were not limited merely to clearing garbage after the Bhandara concluded; the sites also underwent pressure washing using machines during the morning hours. “I am personally present on-site to ensure that the cleaning work is carried out systematically and that no litter remains anywhere.”
The Commissioner remarked that the Municipal Corporation strives to prioritize both the convenience of devotees and the cleanliness of the city during religious, social, and public events. He instructed the sanitation staff to maintain continuous monitoring of the relevant areas even after the events had ended.
Bhandara sites designated for special cleaning
Special cleaning and washing operations were conducted at various Bhandara locations, including Agrasen Chowk, Shyam Mandir, Gaurishankar Mandir Chowk, Subhash Chowk, the Municipal Corporation premises, the area opposite the Municipal Corporation office, Station Road, Gopi Talkies Road, Minimata Chowk, Kayaghat Chowk, the area opposite the Jute Mill Police Station, and Chakradhar Nagar Chowk. This special arrangement by the Municipal Corporation helped maintain cleanliness on the city’s major thoroughfares and at Bhandara sites during and after the Janmashtami festival.
