- Minister Shri Kashyap releases coffee-table booklet based on ‘Cooperative Week 2026’
A review meeting of the Cooperation Department, chaired by Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, was held today in Naya Raipur. Emphasizing the strengthening of the cooperative sector, Minister Shri Kashyap stated that the state government is working with full commitment to make the sector more transparent, digital, and farmer-friendly. Our primary objective is to deliver the direct benefits of government schemes to the last person and every farmer in the state through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
- Release of coffee-table booklet focused on the cooperative sector
During the meeting, Minister Shri Kashyap remarked that digitalization and modern banking services would further strengthen farmers’ trust in the cooperative system. He reviewed the status of vacant posts in cooperative banks and issued instructions to expedite the recruitment process. The Minister also released a coffee-table booklet highlighting the various programs organized in the cooperative sector across Chhattisgarh during ‘Cooperative Week’ (June 29 to July 06, 2026).
- Instructions issued to expedite 100% computerization and the audit process of PACS
In the meeting, Minister Shri Kashyap directed officials, Managing Directors, Divisional Joint Commissioners, Deputy/Assistant Commissioners, and Chief Executive Officers of District Cooperative Central Banks to take prompt action on specific priorities. He instructed them to accelerate the 100% computerization and audit processes of PACS to ensure complete transparency in the financial system.
- Loans Worth ₹7,973 Crore Disbursed to Over 16 Lakh Farmers
Minister Shri Kashyap issued directives to ensure interest subvention on short-term agricultural loans and the timely distribution of fertilizers, seeds, and credit. He stated that a target of ₹8,800 crore in agricultural loans has been set for the state’s farmers through cooperative banks for the current Kharif season (2026); against this, ₹7,973 crore has already been disbursed to over 16 lakh farmers, representing 90% of the target. During the meeting, the Minister instructed officials to achieve 100% agricultural loan disbursement. Emphasis was placed on expanding Common Service Centers in rural areas and making digital banking more accessible by increasing the availability of micro-ATMs.
- Construction of 718 Warehouses Completed
Minister Shri Kashyap reviewed the construction of warehouses across 100 societies and projects sanctioned under the RIDF scheme; he also issued instructions for the smooth functioning of 515 newly formed PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies). It was reported that the construction of 718 out of the 725 warehouses allocated under RIDF has been completed. Officials were directed to ensure the early completion of the remaining seven warehouses.
- Directives to Officials: Ensure Farmers Receive Prompt Benefits of Government Schemes with Accountability and Transparency
Strict instructions were issued regarding the speedy resolution of cases registered on the CM Helpline, the timely filing of replies in court matters, and the implementation of e-Office systems and Aadhaar-based attendance in offices. Orders were given to ensure the final disposal of remaining paddy stocks at procurement centers in a prompt and transparent manner. Concluding the meeting, Minister Shri Kashyap directed all departmental officials to ensure that farmers and citizens associated with the cooperative sector receive the benefits of government schemes promptly, maintaining full accountability and transparency. On this occasion, Secretary (Cooperation) Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Commissioner (Cooperation) and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Shri Ramesh Sharma, Apex Bank General Manager and In-charge Managing Director Shri Yugal Kishore, Additional Registrar Shri U.B.S. Rathia, Additional Registrar Smt. Savitri Bhagat, along with officials from the Cooperation Department and Apex Bank, as well as CEOs of District Cooperative Central Banks, were present.
