- Financial assistance of ₹4 lakh sanctioned
- Chief Minister spoke to Shashikant over the phone to inquire about his health
Thanks to a compassionate initiative by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, 29-year-old Shashikant Bharat—a resident of Devpur village in Dhamtari district—has found new hope for better medical treatment. Upon learning of Shashikant’s critical health condition via social media, the Chief Minister immediately took cognizance of the matter and spoke to him over the phone to inquire about his well-being.
Acting on the Chief Minister’s instructions, the district administration and the Health Department took swift action and admitted Shashikant to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, on the evening of September 9; he is currently undergoing treatment there under the supervision of specialist doctors. Additionally, the Chief Minister has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹4 lakh for his treatment.
- Health affected since a 2016 accident
Shashikant sustained severe injuries in a road accident in 2016, which left him in a coma for approximately 50 days. The accident caused cervical spine issues that impaired the functionality of his limbs. Despite undergoing treatment at various hospitals over a long period, his condition had not improved.
- Shashikant expresses gratitude
Following the conversation with the Chief Minister and the immediate medical assistance provided, Shashikant expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He remarked that the Chief Minister personally calling to inquire about his health, along with arranging treatment at AIIMS and providing financial aid of ₹4 lakh, serves as a tremendous source of support and strength for him and his family.
