A review meeting of the Cooperative Department was held today in Naya Raipur under the chairmanship of Cooperative Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap. Emphasizing the strengthening of cooperatives, Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that the state government is working with full commitment to make the cooperative sector more transparent, digital, and farmer-friendly. Our main goal is to provide direct benefits of government schemes to the last person and every farmer in the state through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
- Released a coffee-table booklet focusing on the co-operative sector
In the meeting, Minister Mr. Kashyap stated that digitization and modern banking services will further strengthen farmers’ trust in the cooperative system. He reviewed vacant positions in cooperative banks and directed that recruitment for vacant positions be expedited. During the meeting, the Minister released a coffee-table booklet focusing on various programs organized in the cooperative sector in Chhattisgarh during Cooperative Week, from June 29 to July 6, 2026.
- Instructions given for 100% computerization of PACS and speeding up the audit process
In the meeting, Minister Kashyap directed officials, managing directors, divisional joint commissioners, deputy/assistant commissioners, and chief executive officers of district cooperative central banks to take immediate action on the following priorities: He directed 100% computerization of PACS and expediting the audit process to ensure complete transparency in the financial system.
- Loans worth Rs 7973 crore distributed to more than 16 lakh farmers
Minister Mr. Kashyap directed to ensure interest subsidy on short-term agricultural loans, timely distribution of fertilizers, seeds and loans. He informed that a target of distributing agricultural loans worth Rs. 8800 crore has been set for the current Kharif season 2026 through cooperative banks to the farmers of the state. Against this, loans worth Rs. 7973 crore have been distributed to more than 16 lakh farmers so far, which is 90 percent of the target. In the meeting, Minister Mr. Kashyap directed the officials to ensure 100 percent distribution of agricultural loans. Emphasis was laid on expanding Common Service Centers in rural areas and making digital banking accessible by increasing the availability of micro ATMs.
- Construction of 718 warehouses completed
Minister Kashyap reviewed the construction of warehouses in 100 societies and the construction works approved under the TPKTH scheme, and also gave instructions for the smooth functioning of the newly formed 515 PACS. The meeting was informed that the construction of 718 warehouses out of 725 allotted under the RAIDF has been completed. Officials were instructed to complete the construction of the remaining 7 warehouses soon.

Strict instructions were issued for speedy resolution of cases registered in the CM Helpline, timely submission of replies in court cases and ensuring e-office and Aadhaar-based attendance in offices. Orders were given for speedy and transparent disposal of the remaining paddy in the paddy procurement centres. At the end of the meeting, Minister Mr. Kashyap directed all departmental officers to ensure prompt benefits of government schemes reach the farmers and common citizens associated with the cooperative sector with accountability and complete transparency.
On this occasion, Secretary Cooperation Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Commissioner Cooperation and Registrar Cooperative Societies Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Apex Bank General Manager and Managing Director in-charge Mr. Yugal Kishore, Additional Registrar Mr. U.B.S. Rathiya, Additional Registrar Mrs. Savitri Bhagat and officials of Cooperative Department and Apex Bank and CEOs of District Cooperative Central Banks were present.
